Simple Engine Mods
Simple Engine Mods
Has any one actually had any simple engine mods done? Extractors, exhaust and filter are one thing, but has anyone here touched anything inside it (cams, a 'lil porting, valves springs)?
If so what are they and did they bring any noticeable gains?
I know every one will probably say "talk to RPW" but I've already got the price list off 'em, and it a fair drive from Gladstone Qld (600kms north of Brisbane). I don't really wanna spend the earth and for those insurance scumbags, I'd rather the mods were discrete.

While looking through the Engine Conversions page of RPW. I noticed 4g93 DOHC. Could the DOHC head be changed onto a CE 1.8 SOHC? What would it cost ya reckon? And waht about the Mivec for CE? I've heard they're rarer then Polar bear dropings in the Sahara.

I am not sure of your age so I suppose most of this post won't help much.
I am 35 and supercharged my Camry and took out full comprehensive with Shannons Insurance, this actually proved to be about $30 cheaper than my everyday Suncorp Insurance.
I am hoping to supercharge my Lancer CE2 coupe sometime in the near future and I would expect to have a similar experience, must be the age?????
Also it is completely OK but the Main Roads crowd here in Qld to give a car some boost, the inspection costs about $50 and you get the little blue mod plate, then get the insurance and you are laughing all the way!!
Boost costs a bit tho I would reckon about $4000 maybe with S/C that is.
Did you do your runs at Benaraby??
