They can have a nasty tappet problem, and i suggest you take a few for a run before you make up your mind. It is very hard to pick up on an early turbo problem in them but you will feel a noticable power difference if there is a problem. Good luck

Yeah it was WRX ETA.. pretty funny bout that price.. Karl wanted to sell it for 19k.. with everything still on it..

I think atm down here, if you want easy hp, an SR20, or a toyota 1 jay/2 jay is the way.. Bart at Crazy Imports is hooking up left right and centre on parts.. its's just so mad.. i picked up a full set of JIC silver coilover ( with adjustable camber tops and pillow joints) for $1200 second hand.. the best thing about S13s.. sils and 180s are interchangable, so there **** everywhere for them..

the toyota.. well.. go and see the man himself.. Georgie down at Adrenaline.. he had a red ****box hilux, with a 1uz (the 4 litre V8 Lexus/toyota engine) bolted on turbo, and made over 670 RWHP.... on stock internals he's a toymotor god
.
And for anyone who hasn't seen my new bucket.. here ya go.. it's called drift/boost on a budget..

*yes, that is a lot of camber on the rear.. 3.6 degrees negative.. haven't been able find a spare set of upper adjustable arms yet *

a few sites that might help you if you don't find that gsr..

like was said, tappets in the 1.8ltr gsr, you would be looking round the $1000-1200 mark for new ones, rust in the roof areas mainly on the dark coloured gsr's but have heard on that on lighter colours though. usual sort of stuff like, if g/box is making noises, drivetrain. Normally have a look, if rotors are sort of groved in chances are has been driven pretty hard and brakes have been pushed on such as track days, air leaks in the engine bay, such as intercooler pipes or hoses etc.. and normal if its been in a smash or cut/shut or make sure you do a revs check and make sure its legit no rebirth etc..
