Isn't the 4g15 the 1.5l engine from the US Mirage? I'm pretty sure it is. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

EDIT: They're SOHC though.

Yup, the US Mirage DE's engine is the 4G15 SOHC. There is not DOHC version of this engine in the US...

However, I think they have DOHC 4G15 in Asia as well as in OZ/NZ.

Sorry we never set our eyes on the DOHC version of the 4G15. We did however have the 4G15 SOHC which is the same engine with single not double over head cam. If you have any questions, I am sure we could answer them, as the vast majority of the information is the same.

I am sure that the timing belt would be changed every 100,000 kms, and all oil fluids would be changed every 15,000km, but I would look to do this at least every 10,000 or every six months, whichever comes first.

i know the mitsi manuals suggest turbo models are every 5000 for oil.

Yes rexhunta you are correct Mitsubishi turbo engines should have their oil changed every 5000km religiously. As redstorm's vehicle is not a turbo and is a 98 model the service intervals are set at every 15000km (not 10000 which was previously the case in the CC Lancer). I do agree that to keep the engine in excellent condition, changing the oil every 5000km helps, but is not necessary. I would, but ultimately it is up to the user.

i kinda do baby my lil poory 1500 carby don't i.. but least i know it'll go when i need her too

i guess it comes from owning a 1969 hillman hunter, the more oil i used to put in it, the more it would start so i changed it every 5-6 thousand kays.
