Hi guys n gals .
I have a 96 Diamante Mivec 3.0 L , which has the MMCS entertainment system onboard . The TV is a GPS + TV tuner and is naturally in NTSC .
Is there anyone who knows how or who to contact for diagrams for the TU-200 tuner assembly , so I can attempt to modify it for PAL ?
It appears to output in RGB + H+ V so that makes me think its a VGA style monitor .
Someone must have converted these Jap TV monitors to work for PAL tv somewhere . Im in New Zealand by the way .
The monitor does Audio controls , A/C , GPS & TV .
Any links or tips would be muchly appreciated .
Thanks Modify

Is the Diamanre the same (or close enough) as our Magna? From what I've seen they look the same.

No.. cause magnas don't have a screen. I was simply asking a question in a thread where it is most likely to be read and answered by someone who knows what they talkin bout. No need to get snotty
.

Sandman - re read the original thread posted by me .
Then read it again , cause I think you have got me wrong for both parts - cause I aint snotty for a start , so take a breath before you pull the trigger so quick m8 ! Now as for the second post , well for starters , your post is a open question , and to post such a question under an already well stated Thread Title about NTSC to PAL for the Tu 200 Tuner found in the 30M Diamante begs the question ....
Does a Mitsubishi Galant look like a Diamante either ?
Well , even if it did , how does your time wasting post help me get my answer to the question I raised . If I could delete my post entirely I would as I see its had heaps of star gazers , but no one but you has bothered to reply . So thanks for taking the time Sandman , but you confused the issue by the immediate post after the original question . Misti Motors in NZ are helping now anyway , their top tech is destined for Japan for a trip soon ,and he tells me there plenty of people wanting this same info as I do .
All I need is the drawings , then I could make the converter myself . And as for the Touch Screen , I program them for a living , so if I had the original editor , I could map it all in English .
These are details the tech is going to ask for me and others in the near future . Anyway this is taking up my drinking time , and my VB is getting warmer by the second .

Firstly Sandman, yes the Diamante is close to the Magna, it is the car which Mitsubishi took and improved/revamped for the new all wheel drive Magna.

Now to Modify, there is no need to address the people of this forum in the fashion you did, many would like to help, but unfortunately some questions pose more difficulty to some. That is why forums like this work, unfortunately as individuals we do not have infinite knowledge but together we come close (well as far as Mitsubishi goes).

To answer your question you can purchase a converter, which can convert the signal from NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC, these converters are simple to use and a quick search on the web pulled up a few. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thankyou for you comments Mivec .
It was a knee jerk reaction to a loaded comment . I appologise If I seem like a sour grape .
Yes , the conversion is not hard in respect to RGB to NTSC or RGB to PAL , as the chip used costs about 5$ . I am however looking much deeper into it than that . It appears that the Audio Carrier is a different frequency ( deviation from Vision Carrier ) than ours .
So , a Tuner replacement is likely also . However , a standard Tuner from a Video will not work I feel , as for starters it runs on a much higher voltage . This can be overcome with a voltage doubler etc & regulation , but also the Pin out is vastly different . The current one has controls from the GPS aswell . As I said , its rather complex , and I fear that too much testing / experimenting could result in a zapping of the screen all together .
Hence for the thread to ask if anyone knows of an official fix .

No worries, yeah I see what you are getting at now. A lot easier now that I have the whole picture I will have a bit of a look around and get back to you.

Thanks Mivec.
Modify, I was originally asking YOU, because u own a Diamante, and might know. I was not implying that u didn't know what u were talking about. The comment was not meant to be loaded (too much) and as Mivec said, well...
U will soon learn that not every post is spot on the topic... many are just conversation, loosely related to the thread topic.
Maybe try a tech/ trouble-shooting forum next time if u don't want this.
Looking forward to much more pleasant conversations in future.

Cheers
Sandman

PS. I'd be angry too, if I was drinking was VB. Try a real beer.. CORONA. Or failing that, XXXX Bitter.
