Proton is a Malyasian car manufacturing company just like Hyundai, using Mitsu parts first. That includes the chassis as well as engines.

Therefore, I have seen someone put a 4G63 turbo into a Proton.

Yes Proton does hence the closer relationship, for example the Satria GTi has the 4G93 DOHC 1.8 from the CC GSR but without the turbo. The Hyundais do not have the same codes as the Mitsubishi, but borrow some parts, not engines. Mitsubishi and Hyundai are not closely related hence the build and quality of the Hyundai

Yes that is correct, they (Proton) purchase old platforms and continue manufacturing the same cars under a different badge (OHH and with some minor body changes, but I almost forgot about them, maybe because they are almost non existent).

I've seen that done in an old Hot4s actually Rexhunta, a GSR manifold, turbo and intercooler, bolted onto a GTi. Would go off.

Anyway rexhunta why do ask about these codes? Is there something which you are after? Or just for general knowledge?

Good reason for them to be cheaper too. Quality, Quality, Quality! The engine will bolt in, but I can tell you now there a millions of other things I would do before even thinking about that idea. But 10 points for showing vision and ingenuity.

How true, motivation seems to be an issue with all of us. When we are motivated it is often about the wrong things or for the incorrect reasons, but that is life I guess.
