Last time I heard it was Zoheb down here in NZ running a 9.8 or something close.
We currently have 3 evo in the 9's down here.
There all early evo shapes, just can't remember which models they are.

Well thats the quickest in NZ, maybe the world, but don't hold me to that.
There was talk about an Evo4 in japan running midish 9's, but I can't find any info about it.
Also that rex uses an auto box, so that would help it get quicker times that the manual evo's.

At this stage there is no Evo in Australia running hight 8's or low 9's. The fact of the matter is that more people drive WRX in Australia, therefore more R&D work has been completed on the engine and various components. Yes you can import the best parts in for the EVO but to find someone who knows what to do with them all is almost impossible. Also when that WRX is fitted with the auto (NOS is in the same category) I feel it is a bit of a cheats way of doing things, but that is only my opinion.

Look for the JUN Evolution 5 Yellow Lancer. It is one quick car, is has 580bhp from memory. I assume that it would throw down some nice times.

jun

thanks for the info, though i doubt the jun evo will be blistering quick, as it is a circuit car. so i reckon the engine is worked for reliability and a smooth linear pwr delievery....
i saw a video (jap) which consisted of a time trial of this race track in japan.. all these cars were modified greatly, such as gtrs, supras, rx7,200 and guess who came out on top!! the jun evo...
i only saw the video once so i can't remember much from it

I just read that in the UK, the Norris Evo 7 has 700hp!
The internals of the engine have been completely modified though
