mivec prices !

heyas
today i got a email from a japanese import company who replied to a email i sent them regarding mivec engines. I asked what price would i be looking at to get a mivec engine and turbo put in. he said after changing my breaks, putting it in and adding a turbo it would cost around 8,000 australian . i was shocked to hear this... i only wanted to spend a max of 4000 bucks. i thourght i could get a decent engine for my 93 cc coupe !!

so much for that idea hey... what other options do i have? I wonder how much rpw would charge...........

I recently just installed a 2000 GSR 1.8L DOHC turbo into a 2000 CE Lancer. The total cost of the expedition cost me just over $6000.

I bought the engine throught Adelaide Jap Imports for about $4500 + freight. Keep in mind though that the engine cost me a lot more because it is such a late model (therefore not a lot of them).

I too thought of putting a MIVEC into my Lancer, however, I feel that while they are a revvy engine, their low down torque leaves something to be desired.

Give Adelaide Jap Imports a go at www.adelaidejap.com.au. I'm sure they will be able to help you out.

$8000??? WTF?? Other places that I have tried are: Toyshop and Crockenberg Motors (www.crockenberg-motors.com.au; they have done Evo transplants on CC coupes, and their website brags about them constantly getting new parts from Japan).

The GSR engine fitted straight in into my car. The only problem I had was finding an engine with the gearbox on the passengers side (I don't know what Mitsubishi were thinking when they did that??). Other than that everything was smooth.
