a CG lancer with a tasteful bodykit will turn more heads than a CE. Thats my experience anyway.
heres a picture of the 2.4 lancer taken from the american boards:

judging from the polls, the CG seems to be more popular.

Sorry mate you have posted 2 different models of Lancers there, neither of which is the CE version. But I tell you this, when Mitsubishi bring out the new shape Lancer as on the left, I am not going to buy it and probably will leave Mitsubishi all together. We can all understand when the CG model Lancer came out that Mitsubishi were going through some tough times therefore the car suffered to some extent. But when you did not think they could get any worse look what they bring out. I am sure you have all seen the hidious new Magna by now, how they can make what was a good car look so terrible is beyond me.

To be perfectly honist I am extremely annoyed with Mitsubishi. I do not like the direction they are heading, and I feel for people such as myself they leave me with little option than to go elsewhere. I know there is problems with the goverment and restricting access and making a lot of money of Mitsubishi for bring the economy models here and jacking the price up, but it is not all there fault.

I do not see why they use a different better looking body on the Evolution models and not use the same shell in the economy models. Subaru do it and to be honist even there base cars look better than our top (non Evolution) model.

Anyway enough said.

Mivec, you misunderstood. I never stated that either of them were the CE. Yuckfu in the previous post had wondered what the 2.4 ralliart version (the left one) would look like so I posted a pic so you can compare it with the current CG model (american).

the thing with the magna was that it wasn't selling well and it was and still is the oldest of the local cars. The magna may have been the best of the local cars but it was also practically invisible in a crowd and not on many people's new car list. I agree that they could've done a lot better with it but I'm sure they're more interested in increasing sales, which the new face lift will do. Just look at the new Camry, doesn't exactly look pretty but its selling very well. I personally think the new Magna looks better than the Camry anyways.

Thank you for the further clarification. As far as the Magna goes, it was moving into a good field. When the AWD Magna came out it created a lot of intrest, many people wanted to wait and see and others like myself were eagerly awaiting the AWD Ralliart Magna, as that would be something of a force, compared to Falcon and Commodore. Unfortunately the styling has now moved away from where they were heading, and I fear it will hurt them in the future.

On to the Lancer with the 2.4L MIVEC, where exactly did you get the information from? I can not see how it will only produce 120kw, when the old 4G92 DOHC 1.6L MIVEC was producing 130kw. Now with the GDI technology I would expect it to produce more. The logical progression would be something around 180kw out of a 2.4L MIVEC using GDI, but I guess pumping that through FWD is not too wise for the Lancer.

I actually saw it on the american section of this forum, can't really remember where it is anymore but heres a website with more info.
2004 Lancer
I'm sure the Japanese domestic version will have a lot more than 120 kw. for some reason, we always seem to get the crappy versions. the 1.8 GDI used in the domestic CG makes 96 kw and uses an INVECS-III 6 speed CVT compared to our 4 speed.

Your version kinda reminds me of Mazda's new corporate face. it looks alright and gets rid of the happiness from the one on the left.
heres a look of the new engine:
