Anyone Dynoed an Evo VI?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has dynoed a Jap Spec Evo 6 in Australia? I put mine on a Dynapak dyno, and got 150Kw atw. This is with turbo back exhaust, intake, full fuel/ignition tuned, and boost upped to 1bar (previously running 0.8bar)

There may be some unknown mods since i bought this from Japan, and couldn't talk to the original owner.

It seems a little low to me. What do people think?

I think i should come to your house and steal your keys.. no seriously ! ..

I think if you look at roughly 35-40 % drive train loss, i think thats a bit right, maybe a lil bit under ( what fuel did you try this on ? )since they are meaning to be 206kw's at flywheel, adding a 'zorst maybe round 15-20kw's, then boost may have given another 20-30kw's roughly.. plus tuning, you shold have a lil more.. But also dont forgot the AWD drivetrain loss, and other factors..

i'd think bout going to another dyno, and seeing how it runs there just to be curious..

Pete

This figure seems a little low to me, I will double check with the dyno results that I have of various Evolutions (including Evo VI Jap spec). I will get back to you ASAP.

That would be wonderful. Thank you.

Don't get me wrong, this car still goes like a rocket - It's without a doubt faster than my 13.9s S2000, but then, even down on power it would be.

Dyno results are pretty subjective. Different dynos can give different results on the same car.

Keeping that in mind, these were the figures i got when i dynoed my car.

With 1.1 bar, exhaust, filter and autronics: 170kw atw
With 1.3 bar, hks 272 cams, sprockets etc: 207kw atw
With 1.5 bar, pistons, modified T-04E turbo: 252kw atw

Figures will vary with diff. dynoes and conditions but i hope this can give you a (very) rough guide.

Strangezz,

Thank you so much for your numbers. It sets me at ease that I'm in the ball park.

My computer is poorly tuned. I'm running close to 10:1 at the top end, and only running 1.0 Bar. So the fact that I'm 20kw short of your number doesn't bother me.

I'm going to find out why I'm running so rich, put Tomei 260 x 10.8mm Cams, P&P head, manifold, and see if I can run about 1.3-1.5bar. I was hoping to get about 210-220Kw atw with those mods, so it looks realistic.

Hi Sunder,

A set of cams and good tuning would definitely get you in the 200+kw range. Just a word of warning, make sure you upgrade your fuel pump. The standard pump might not be enough.
