Question grinding sound when car is started!!!!

Hey guys, i've got a 93 cc sedan and when i start up the engine it's making a grinding sound. I've had a look at it and i thought it could have been the drive shaft or somthin. It also does it contiuosly when i drive.

Can anybody give me some help here as to what it could be?

Thnx guys

Hmm, what kind of a grindin noise, I mean like is it metal on metal, or some other material? Is it a manual or auto?

One noise i also get and thats from my air con clutch, but i guess thats normal.

I got that noise from my S2000 - but I sold it before figuring out what it was.

I'm just curious, so consider this a "subscription" to the thread.

I had the same problem. Mine went away after the engine was warm though. Turned out to be the oil pump!! Replaced it and now no more noise!!

Well actually it sounds like a metal against metal grinding noise. My car is manual and i took it to the mechanics and the idiots replaced the drive shaft thinking it was that. It didn't fix anything.... Then they tried to shrug the problem by saying it was just a loud revving engine. I know that isn't right cos the car used to be relatively quite not so long ago. Can anybody suggest anything? Or perhaps head in the right direction?
Thnx guys

Get them to test the oil pressure. When I had the same sort of noise, my car had low oil pressure. I stumped 4 mechanics with the same problem, until I told them to actually check the oil pump.
