not so much the length of them but more the diameter of them as they have stretched after 3 years and I know it is not much but would much prefere a really snug fit than one that needs to be tightened up via clips ect as you never get a real good seal I think I might be able to get the info from a Mitsubishi dealer but they usually like to sell you original I want silicon I think most of the hoses are 6 and 8 mm but not 100% sure

As for how much they've strectched - chowetime - it wont be any more than a mm or two, if that. Just tighten them up with some pretty chrome clips. Its not like you're blueprinting the engine is it? A poofteenth of a mm lack-of-seal (if any) isn't going to compromise your car's performance at all.
You'll still have '137hp atw'.
As for not wanting to ask Mitsu - why? Let them do the leg work for you, and then just balk at the price. Tell them you'll think about it, and leave quietly.

yeah you are probably right I suppose because I don't know much about cars I am one for if it says I have a 8mm hose then that is what I replace it with - just recently I had a blown vaccum hose or cooling hose that leads to the throttle body and it had split and that is why I I asked the Q's about hoses I went and bought a hose to replace it and when I measured it up with the one that we had taken off it seemed like a good fit but then when I put it on and tightened it up it still leaked a little and that was only out by 2mm as I needed a 8mm and got 10mm
the local car dealer here are ok this one guy I see he is great but I reckon he gets blasted every time he stops and speaks to me about modifying by his boss
but anyway thanks for the bit of reassurance being a noob I need it from time to time

Talk to him outside work then. I learnt about cars by talking to a mate that had the identical car as me, but he worked at Ford as a mechanic and was a few years older than me.
We both had 88-shape TX3 turbo 4x4s. He knew everything about them, and was only too happy to help a fellow 'noob' 10 years ago.

You don't want to be any more than about 1mm out of your measurements..... how old is your car? If its less than 5 years old chances are the pipes haven't changed dimension at all. Have you got someone making the silicon pipes up for you?

the car is only 3 1/2 years old - 2000 model I don't have anyone at the moment I would like to fit them all on myself as it would save me a small fortune there is a local place that I can get them from but again have told me get the sizing ect and we will sell you the hose - maybe I just get a bunch of hose lengths from 4mm through to 8mm and work from there do a trial and error sort of thing with hopefully less error involoved - I think they will also be able to make up the radiator hoses for me as well
like everything else if it dose not take time it takes money and you never seem to have both at once
