a LITTLE dent? What exactly would you consider a "large" dent?
Sorry that happened, though, it's never a good thing.

Front Bumper is all good, rear isnt *coughs*

Carbi - yeah, mine was chugging a lot as well when I gave it too much go when it was cold. After 5 mins it was all good though.

A wrecker guy is coming tomorrow morning to look at my car, see if I can get a decent price. Else I'll sell the parts.

Annnnnd my little biatch is sold and gone.
Need to borrow some money now to get a new car... You never realise how much you need it until its gone.

Wish me luck with finding something decent. What would you guys suggest for under $5000?

Firstly lower your expectations to the $4000 range so you can afford comprehensive insurance this time.

You've gotta start earning your no-claim and getting an insurance history sometime, may as well be now so you don't end up making the same mistake twice.

Maybe a early 90s Laser S?

I'd be putting it in the tradeing post to get as much for it as possible, and getting another lancer out of the same place as theres cb lancers for $2500 and then getting insurance. I got a spare engine but i aint got a spare back end

There are lots of CC coupes available in the 5.5K range. There's a white one in my town for $5990 at a dealer (so you could get it for 5K) with the 1.5EFI engine and air con.

I was looking at a Laser, yeah... but na... and I'm not sure I want a Lancer again right now...
Then I was looking at a 1989 Celica SX, but it had quite a few issues

Now I'm looking at an 1988 Holden Astra 1.8efi with Extractors, Intake, Rims and Stereo for $2800... with only 101000k's. Do you think they are legit k's? What do you think of it?

Yeah, I passed on the Astra, no RWC, and he wanted to cancel the rego as well before he sold it. Only one reason why he would do that, you cant transfer rego without a RWC apparently, so what does that mean? How much has to be done to make it roadworthy :P

Have you sold it yet? If not looking at the car it would be a perfect AWD conversion as most of what is bent would come with a rear cut. This would eliminate the crap car situation theres info on this sight www.evocoupe.net its a fourm but alot of the ppl here have done the conversion and are very helpful with info. It worth a look
