ce 1.8l mas airfilter

Hey
i have a ce 1.8l motor
its probably been posted already, but to lazy to go look for it .... but how much do you guys know about installin a airfilter to these motors..
i've read u should buy the k&n filter suited to the mitsu mas sensor but they cost a fair bit
has anyone try to install a normal pod filter like those $100 ones and had any problems with them.. ?
Also the installing....
should u d/c the mas sensor when installing? and wen i unplug the battery the car alarm comes on, how do u turn it off.....
and some ppl say sometimes there warning light goes on after air filter installion, cause they done it wrong somehow? explain?

Get the K & N rampod. Its worth the money in the end. If you want to use a $100 rampod then you will need to buy a piggy back ecu that will allow you to remove the air mass sensor. Other wise the the car will not run very well.

The mass sensor is located on the airbox where the pipe connects and has a simple plug. Its ok to disconnect the plug, just make sure you connect it before starting the engine.

Your car alarm is sounding because it has a built in voltage drop sensor which detects any drop in voltage. This is another way of protecting the car from being started. You should have a small black box in the engine bay which is the alarm. There should be a small key hole on it. You should also have a small key that came with the alarm. Use it to turn the alarm off. Now you can disconnect the battery.
