LIC pipe -- dyno proven?

I have an AMS lower IC pipe on my car and got it because I was under the impression that it was worth 8+ whp. David Buschur says that he "guarantees" that this isn't true:

I tend to think that both Buschur and AMS are good, honest vendors, but someone's wrong here. Does anyone have some dyno evidence of gains from the lower IC pipe?

BR is right; there is no way on earth that you will see 8WHP. You will see better throttle response and a better spool but nothing more.

but hey that AMS pipe is not a bad choice at all

I think there is a gain especially since boost raises 2 psi when bolted on. After turning it back down, who knows?

The HP gain we have been seeing on the dyno is translating anywhere from 7-10 crank Hp. As far as Dave statement saying that the stock lower IC pipe cant be improved upon??? I really dont want to get into it with another vendor but we have proven that is very much not so. Ask our customers.

If anything its the upper pipe that provides the least gain. We made ours as an aesthetic alternative to the ugly stock one while offering the ability to put a much nicer BOV on it. Hp gains are minimal though.

Boost really raises by 2 psi with this LIC bolted on?

Fo shizzle, I installed mine and saw almost 2 psi increase. Couple that with the AMS down pipe and cat back, I'm running 1.6 KPa on first stab tapered down to 1.2

no, it does not at 8whp. We estimate about 7crank hp, it's different on every car but it does give some gains.

Which is like 2 1/2 whp maybe. but that is just like certain mods on a car, like an intake and exhaust on cars don't add these huuuuuge gains yet it cuts down on the quarter. Just like with upper and lower icp. It helps throttle response, spool up etc which would be helping in the quarter. Like a short throw, adds no hp but helps shifting.

It helped my car alot, especially with boost response. So, even if it only adds 7 at the crank, the rate at which power comes up is improved.

A big help to us opentrackers out there.
