Making more power?
Making more power?
I'm going with a GT35R turbo kit. In your opinion which engine is capable of producing more power up to 8,500rpms, the 4G64 or the stroked 4G63?
Goals=500whp on 93pump+methanol, 600+whp on C16
What compression would you go with for the 4G64 (8:0:1 or 8:5:1)?
What compression would you go with for the 4G63 stroked to 2.3l?
What rod length do you use for your built 4G64? What other lengths are available?
Thanks

they are both very similar. For ease of install and parts we like the 2.3 stroker motor. Both are very nice setups though.
we really dont deal with 4G64's all that much because of the bad luck they had with DSM's (earlier Eclipses and talons) Evos seem to be more reliable. for compression on the 2.3 we use 8.5:1

Magnus offers the following rod lengths for the 4g64: in 150 156 and 162mm length with 21 0r 22mm pin bushings

How much more boost can you run using 8:0:1 over 8:5:1 using a GT35R? Is the lower compression worth it?

I am no-expert by any means, but I believe they are concerned that the 4g64 block with a evo head may potentially have head gasket problems due to the only head gasket that will work is made by Cometic.
I do not think a 4g63 gasket will fit due to the increased bore size. I could be mistaken. Also, I do not believe they are concerned with crank walk issues with the new blocks.
It's been done a million times for DSMs... Here this should give you an idea:

Good luck.

Good luck.
With the earlier eclipse 4G64's the headgasket was always an issue. Cometic made a gasket but it never really held up all that well. Now the 7 bolt 2.4's have not been that bad, but we still dont have alot of time into them.
