How does the pre-pressed mount work? Do you have to return your old mount back to AMS, or does the $50 cover the price of the mount housing?

You keep your old mount. The $50 covers the price of the new housing.

I had a quick question on this, if I order just the bushing, does it come with the metal sleeve where the bolt rides in? I know, kind of a silly question but didn't see that mentioned anywhere because I planned on pressing out the old bushing and installing the new. Thanks for any info!

Thats my question too. Im going to assume the engine remains supported by the other motor mounts while the bushing swap takes place?

I bought mine last week, but I haven't had time to install it yet...anyways, from the looks of it...if you buy it with the housing, it's a direct swap of your old one...there are 2 bolts(3 if you include the middle bolt) that hold that front engine mount and 3 bolts that hold that cross member(if I remember correctly)..very simple to unbolt...now if you buy just the insert, you will have to press out the original bushing and press in the polyurethane one....hope that helps!!

I don't think that is a good idea. You need to support the engine/tranny with a tranny jack at least.
I went under the car yesterday and HollyCoW!! the stock mount looks more like a EGG shape than the normal circle :} That is even with the TQ damper in there for over 2 years.
I hope this one won't cause too much vibration. I hate the vibrating car :\
Need more review...

Speede72 has been waiting on them patiently as well.

You don't need a jack. Just remove the horizontal bolt first then remove the mount. Bolt the new mount in place. To get the horizontal bolt back in, just wiggle the motor a little bit by pushing up on the tranny and it slips right in.

Got mine in there for almost 2 weeks. There is more vibration in cabin and the Car feels a lot stiffer compared to the WR dampener. It makes shifting a lot more precise especially at higher RPM.
It is ironic that my WR's mount was found broken at the base. It may have been there for a while now so it makes perfect sense that the feel between the 2 items are so drastic. I have removed the damper altogether.
I removed the brace so I can torque everything back correctly.
Strongly recommended!

Just installed this mod today, I bought the pre-pressed mount in a new housing. Install took 50 minutes, including removal and reinstall of plastic undertray.

Driving impressions, when you fire the car up you definetly feel a jolt in the chassis, also vibration is increased in the cabin when engaging first gear, mostly flet thru the clutch and steering wheel. ALL of the drivetrain slop my car used to have is GONE, shifting the car is a night and day difference in my eyes, it took a lot of the notchiness away and I found it easier to engage the gears, and I swear to god my engine is louder, maybe i'm just excited who knows. By far the best $95.00 I have spent on my Evo yet.
