guess i should have been more clear, what i meant is they never tried to build a high hp evo to break records until recently. i hope we get to see both cars line up against each other this year. definitely agree that its good for the evo brand and definitely shows people what the car is capable of doing. good luck to both companies, time to destroy subaru and the rest of the competition!

Buschur has been doing the 4G63 for some time now, however, I don't know his level of commitment. Besides, horsepower is useless if you can't get it to hookup, and, um, well, they have alot of work, and things to break, bfore they get to the record.

But, agreed, competition is always a good thing.

The AMS car makes about 30whp/50wtq more than the Buschur car. Still, both are absolute beasts and Eric from AMS has already congratulated DB on the numbers.

yea but buschur was done on a45r not a 42r like ams, so smaller turbo makes more power tell me that ams product works great.

AMS is very aware of our car and the #'s it is putting down. There is a very good relationship between us and AMS. Probably the best 2 shops could have. I BS and talk to Eric almost on a daily basis. We are not looking to beat their *** and their not looking to beat ours. If records fall they fall. We are in it for fun.

I know Eric already said it but congrats again on the great numbers!
It definetaly takes ***** to push these 4-cylinders this hard! I cringe everytime I see that boost needle go past 40psi on the dyno.
Even though everyone wants to turn this into a who's faster/better thing, but look at it as both shops putting out top notch cars.
Good competition improves the breed.

Norris' numbers were estimated engine HP numbers

We have a very good relationship with the guys over at Buschur and congratulated them on there accomplishment.

Competition breeds success and we havent exactly been sleeping over the past couple of months. we have a couple of cars we are working on to up the bar....and Buschur knows it.

We still currently hold the record but we would be very silly to sleep on even our own record.

All this means is even better products for EVO Owners. Dave, Jarrod and the guys at Buschur keep pushing us just as we keep pushing them.

Records are made to be broken and we will do our best to keep breaking them

Eric

it feels so nice to see these 2 evo giants being so respectful to one another. i only wish that more vendors could be as prefessional as these 2. ccongrats Buschur and ams, you are both the best in my book and it is always exciting to see what you do with these cars.

"Many variables here....gt42vs.gt45....2.3vs.2.0...corrected hpvs.uncorrected....

AMS rules regardless."
You start out with a good statement then end it with one that is highly debateable. I believe BR is using a 2.0. Bigger turbo, but no Meth, no Alky. So if one was to say here is a 2.0 spooling a different turbo, with no aids or help. Making nearly the same power levels. Helps to see those facts.
As Martin said, competition is good for all.
Now if all one cared about was the absolute peak HP number, nothing else and didn't care how it was achieved. Then of course, higher numbers win.
It can become a Supra mantra. He who makes 800 hp and puts it to the ground is faster than the 1000 hp car. At any rate, with these power levels its a job to keep the drivetrains together. And dyno numbers don't win races.
