HKS downpipe and AMS Catback

I have an Ams catback and a hks downpipe im getting ready to install. Is there a test pipe that will go between the two? The guy i got it from was running the stock cat with an addaptor. The ams site says, the test pipe only fits ams products. If anyone has any imput on this, it would be greatly appreciated

you could always just cut the flange on the test pipe and put one on that mates up. just a suggestion.

The orientation of the the flange on the HKS downpipe is the same as stock. Obviously the AMS exhaust bolted up to the stock cat so, just about any test pipe that uses the stock flange locations should work. (Helix, UR) There should have been no need for an adapter in the first place.

I don't know if AMS changes the orientation of the flange on their test pipes and DP's. I don't see why they would.

I believe they have a 3 bolt flange as opposed to a 2 bolt.

correct. AMS uses a 3 bolt flange that resembles something like the rotary symbol on the RX-8 if you stare at it long enough. if you buy the exact one that they use (well... here in CA anyways) it's not cheap. pretty hefty piece of stainless.
