Increased boost after DV change

I had my car tuned last week by AMS and I was recommended to get an EVO9 diverter valve since my EVO8 one was possibly leaking. I installed the DV and now my boost spikes 1 psi higher (from 23psi to 24-24.5psi) and I holds boost better to redline.

My question is will the higher boost spike be damaging to the engine?

I'm currently using the stock BCS. Thanks.

Was this the vehicle with the DEFI gauges?

Yes it was the one with Defi gauges that reads high. The boost spike I'm quoting above takes into account the 2psi high reading of the gauge.

I'd say that you are ok, it was about 2-3 psi off from what I remember. As long as it is not holding the boost that you are spiking, you will have no issues.

Does the car feel more powerful now?

Thanks
Chris

Yes the car does feel more powerful. The biggest difference I noticed is the power seems more crisp during throttle transitions.
I'm looking forward to getting cams and intercooler and getting it tuned again.
Thanks AMS.
