AMS visits Tuning Technologies
At SEMA we were invited to the Mitsubishi Baddest EVO challenge. This was awesome except one of the rules said we had to run 91 octane! Unfortunately i didn't bring our ECUTEK hardware so we had to find someone who had it and retune the car.
I called my friend Alfred at Tuning Technologies and he insisted I come over and we'l tune that thing. Ivan and I packed everything up and headed from our hotel in Cypress to Tuning Tech. Well what should have been an hour trip took over 2 hours because the traffic was so bad from all the forest fires. It was actually pretty scary as we were driving right next to the fires! We could see flames and smoke 100 yards off the highway.
Once at Tuning Technologies we drove the car on empty for a bit and Alfred and I filled up the tank with 91 octane gas. Aflred's guys strapped down the X and I got a refresher course on the ECUTEK software from Alfred. It's been a while since Chris does all the stock ECU tunes at our shop so I was a little rusty on all the flash procedures. After a few pulls with the boost at 21psi the X was putting out 400whp on 91 octane with a very safe tune. I ran it through the gears to heat soak it and checked the logs to make there was no knock.
I really want to extend a big thanks to the Alfred, Jen, and everyone at Tuning Technologies for not only being great people and friends, but a great shop!
The X on the Dyno
'So 40 degrees of timing and 14:1 A/F right? haha!'
Some cool looking dudes!
