What was retained on the Alpha 9 turbo for GT-Rs? I was wondering what would be the spool comparison of the Alpha 9 turbo as to the stock IHI turbos.

Car will be used for mountain touges and track races, hence, the response has to be really good. The engine will be built by Mines for superb response too and based on my readings, this Alpha 9 turbokit will deliver what exactly I want. Intercooler to be used will be an Esprit. Boost levels will be at a conservative number for our pump gas which is at 100RON.

 

Well here is an alpha 10 dyno overlayed on the stock graph and it appears to lose no spool at all.

Nah, I think 980whp is too much for a touge and track car. I was just looking at a max of 900bhp or maybe 700 to the wheels. Yes, this car will be used for mountain touge street runs so I have to put a balance between everything. So it seems like the Alpha 9 turbo would best suit my needs. Well, sometimes Vmax highway runs shall be done too so at least we have a balance of both world.

 

Here is a dyno chart for the Alpha 9 compared to stock as you can see the spool is nearly identical.
