BS Solutions strikes again
umm bro but if you did not notice I called and talked to "snoop" to ask him and what he had told me was he thought they were off, but in fact were set correct. Then I retarted them five degrees as he stated. So get your facts correct. If I had know that vishnu's setup was to set the belt off one tooth then retart them 5 degrees I would have done so. But I didn't and instead set the timing on how it was from the factory.
I can see where the confusion comes in because TDC is NOT TDC on the gears, TDC is about +7 if I remember correctly, no biggie, he is happy and his car runs great!

All Evo of 4g63 motors when set properly on time. Meaning that the top to cam gears line up on the marks. The bottom crank pully marks will ALWAYS show 3-5 degrees BTDC. So I can see how to the un-trained eye it would look like the timing was off, but I assure you that it was set correct just like the factory. Now I do admit that at the time of setting the cam gears I was not informed that Vishnu's setting were to adj the gear minus five on both sides plus retarding the cam gear on the belt by one tooth as well. But Kevin didn't know and noone else said anything to me when I was doing them. Long story short Kevins car is running good now and everyone is happy.
Have a nice day.

Cool, I guess Vishnu's settings are screwy, Sorry about this mixup man.

The Vishnu gears have a red dot that has to be lined up with the mark. A common problem is that installers line the "0" with the mark. This seems to happen all the time. I saw it personally on 2 cars at my local Vishnu dyno day. Regardless of the funny installation procedure, they are still some of the nicest cam gears I have seen.
They do come with instructions in the box, but people seem to think they are just like other cam gears and disregard them. Either way as long as Boost Solutions took care of the problem and the customer is happy then everything should be fine, right?
