I'm guessing it's VTA and not recirculating... Evo's don't like VTA that much on Stock ECU.. Some customers reported that the E-manage took care of that problem. But AEM Definetly takes care of that problem.

Bingo... recirc or get some fuel management... why do manufactures still use MAF sensors!

AEM is just another brand of an Aftermarket ECU (computer)

talk to badazzcr, he used to have this bov on his evo about a year ago if I'm not mistaken, I went for a ride in his car and don't recall it having any stalling problems.

When I first started upgrading my car one of the first things I got was the HKS SS blowoff valve. I didn't have any fuel management at the time. The stock ECU is actually very smart as it adjusts to changes automatically over time. When I installed my blowoff valve, which I vented for the noise, I first reset my ECU and drove. For the first week or so my idle was a bit ruff at times but soon was back to normal. I got bored a few months later and installed the recirc kit to see what would happen out of curiousity and the car idled crappy again to prove that the ECU does indeed adjust to change. It does not happen overnight and who's to say it will work for everyone. It worked for both Doug and I though so I'm sure it won't hurt to try.

Reset the ECU and drive

Matt
