Visiting Montreal

I'm an Evo owner visiting Montreal for the next two weeks. Just wondering if any of the fellow Mistu lovers here could give me some suggestions on places to eat or things to do while I'm in town. I'm staying downtown Montreal. Thanks!

Montreal the first city of North America is a class act, the Paris of North America, you made a good choice

As a proud Montrealer here are my suggestions:

Restaurants:

1. Shwartz's Smoke Meats - 3895 Saint-Laurent
World famous smoke meat(brisket for you Texans !) a must if you visit Montreal
http://www.montrealnightguide.com/re...nt_shwartz.asp

2. LA QUEUE DE CHEVAL - 1221, Rene Levesque
Expensive resto where the Hollywood celebs eat out when they are in town

3. THE PEEL PUB - 1107 Ste Catherine W
Inexpensive watering hole with good food, mostly university crowd

Site See:

1. Old Montreal, the first city of the Americas established 1642 http://www.vieux.montreal.qc.ca/eng/accueila.htm :
- Notre-Dame Cathedral
- Pointe A Caliere Historical Museum
- Walk through the cobble stone street and take a caleche(horse buggy) ride
- The Old Port, yes Montreal is an island !

2. Mount-Royal look out, see Montreal from a top Mont-Royal

3. Night Clubs glore on Crescent, Mackay, Bishops and St-Catherine

4. Olympic Stadium, first and only city in Canada to host the summer 21st Olympics in '76
- Funicular ride
- Biodome

5. LaRonde - Man and His World, Amusement park I believe it will still be open for Thanks-Giving weekend and yes Montreal again was the first city to host the World Expostion in '67.

6. Bell Amptheatre - 1000 DeLaGauchetiere next to the Marriot Hotel
Indoor ice skating, rent skates, just a walk from downtown.

7. Circuit Gille Villeneuve, drive on the race track of the Canadian Grand-Prix

In downtown, the streets have 3 lanes, but the center lane is very wide. What's up with that? Can 2 cars drive down the center lane? People keep honking at me.

If you've got expensive tastes when it comes to food, have a lunch at Helene de Champlain near La Ronde. Expensive, but worth it.
