question about the turbo kits CDN made
hey does anyone remember the name of the maker of that turbo kit that everyone got installed? its a shop in TO, i think Noel got his installed there.
i've been outta the loop for such a long time, whats up everyone?!
so what are the current turbo kits out there? i mean safe ones with oem standards and quality assurances?
i need one that is preferably made locally in the montreal/Toronto/Ottawa region. erik's got the RRM one, there is the RPW one....
man...i've been out of it for such a long time....
can someone sum things up for me in the field of turbo kits? i dont care much about the custom kits made at local garages....untested and unverified.... unless its tested and proven.
thanks.

Noel got his at Essential Speeds, Stay away from them.
As far as Canadian company's are conserned:
Contact AMI Motorsports in Barrie Ontario, ask for Adrian and tell him Danno sent you. They are good guys and should be able to help you out.
But I would talk to Rob at RRM or Dave at Accolade. Both those kits are proven on the Lancers with no guess work.

Everyone that I know of has had problems with either A) the kits or B) the customer service.
Plus they dont dyno tune the kits, or upgrade the FMU. I guess they are okay if you plan on doing all of your own tuning and upgrading some of the parts. But for what its worth why not just buy a complete kit from RRM that is ready to go. Its Install and drive with them (pretty much)

^ What he said.
Accolade is a North American RPW dealer now, you can get all of RPW's parts through them.
You mentioned RIPP they make superchargers, that would be another option. These seem to be very good, very reliable kits. Definaly worth looking into.

i believe RIPP is a supercharger kit. expensive as hell, but u get what u pay for = no lag. and it sounds kinda cool. although the spooling of a turbo sounds better.
spooling = car orgasm

iguess its true....RRM appears to be the only reliable one, i mean, they've been tested and been around for atleast 3-4 years now. and never heard of anytone complaining or an engine blowing up.
as long as u keep the boost below 5-6lbs, there should be no problems on stock internals.

^ RRM is a great company and are great to their customers, but dont forget about RPW They have been there since day one and make some of the best, if not THE best, parts for Mitsubishi Lancers/Mirages. They know their stuff, they have been in the game a long time.

so between the RPW and RRM turbo kits, which one do all you think is the better solution?
the RRM's dyno looks bullet proof solid, but then again, tahts stage 2... i dont think i'll ever run more than 5-6lbs anyways, i'm more of a conservative type, and i dont want to eff up my car when my last payment is in march!! the car is offially all paid off in a month. i'll be saving cash like no tomorrow now.
