Lightbulb Brokerage fees for stuff from U.S.

Okay, I just thought it might be nice if the guys didn't get nasty surprises when ordering stuff from places in the States like RRM, etc. No complaints about the parts, just ***** about what it took to get them here.

I just got my carbon fibre grille today, and swallowed a lump when I saw the brokerage fees. Let's post them up here so that at least we might have an idea of what everything will actually cost after shipping and brokerage:

RRM Rally Spec Strut Bar:
Cost: $139 USD
Shipping: ~$15 USD
UPS brokerage: $60 CAD

RRM Evo Style Carbon Fibre Grille:
Cost: $269 USD
Shipping: ~$15 USD
UPS brokerage: $140 CAD

Whew...

Woops, didn't see the other thread.

I'll buy from them when their site is up and running proper, something about buying from a site that's got broken pics makes me shudder. Seems like their prices are good though.

from my experience, this seems to be the way to avoid brokerage fees or tax...

ask the sender to mark it as a gift and with a very low price... last time i bought a sway bar from RRM and asked Rob to mark it low... he marked it as $5 and it came without any extra fees...

but u'll lose the insurance for the shipping since it covers for the item's cost.....
