If it is an EVO.... 5W-20 is not recommended... Fine for a Lancer...as long as it is a Daily Driver and not beat on..

Royal Purple Engine Oil shears back way to quick...

If your bottom end is stock or running stock clearances, AMSOIL SSO 0W-30

If this is a vehicle that strictly sees heavy track use and/or the bottom end has been loosened up, I would go to AMSOIL TRO 20W-50 Racing Oil.

Depends on the weight being used... If we are talking the 20W-50, there are several oils including AMSOIL that are better than the Motul

In a 10W-40... AMSOIL and Mobil 1 EP out perform the Motul.

Is the Motul a good oil ? Of course it is..., You definitely won't hurt anything running it...

No "But" when it comes to Motul.... We are not talking Royal Purple here...

Although AMSOIL does outperform Motul, Motul is quite a respectable oil.

Motul prefers to use a full Ester Base stock where AMSOIL and some others went to a PAO with Esters years ago. There are a few drawbacks to a full Ester Based product and it is general consensus the a PAO with Esters is better.

If we really want to get down to it.... It doesn't make a difference in the Base Stock... Over All Performance is what really should be looked at.
