Close call tonight due to ghetto roads

so tonight i was bored and decided to go for a leisurely drive...im on 401 westbound approaching yonge and in the passing lane there was something that appeared to be a huge chunk either in the road or on top of the road ..things happened so quickly i didnt get a good look but i managed to dodge around the debris... the cars around me werent so fortunate...car infront of me had 3 flat tires and deployment of airbags, there were 6-7 cars infront and behind me that were all damaged...there were more ahead and behind in the distance...for some reason i have always had someone looking after me in these types of situations...since i was a witness i waited around for the opp to arrive, i went car to car and it was amazing that no one was injured...by the time i left there were 4-5 tow trucks and i believe there were 4 opp...anyways just needed to share this...stay away from that area and drive safe!

highway speeds + road debris is so dangerous
especially if it is dark out
good job on the alertness and avoidance!

my MR cleared one piece of a two piece ladder in the middle of the night. it is a good thing it did not damaged my underbelly at all. I got some gas tank crash plates.

thanks guys..it looked like a huge chunk in the road was taken out and a few big concrete blocks were just sitting on the road getting kicked around by the other cars...by the time we all stopped we had already passed the spot so it was impossible to walk down the busy highway to take a look..for the car in front of me to have 3 flats and all the other cars around me having flats it must have been the dip in the road to cause this..so this was all the result from poor road conditions..im hoping to see some kind of police report or something to see what actually caused this..nothing available yet...

things like that make me not want to lower my car this spring

debris on the road and everything..pot holes isnt a big issue cuz u know its there if u drive on the road often enuff, unless it was like what happened to boosted where it was unexpected

but theres always **** lying on the road...last year i saw a goose on steeles dead on the road and steeles for those who are outside toronto, is the most frequently used street in canada

I was driving the other night, and saw this huge chunk of ice off off the top of a truck, it hit the grand and stayed in once pice. I tried to swirve to hit it... but failed. Bang... full impact. haha when igot home and looked at the front lip. I was impressed to see that it was a scratch on the splitter piece and minor damage to the right front side of the lip. filing down and touch up point will work. The impact was so great that one of the screws that holds on the splitter popped off. haha

Guess this FR Plastic is worth every penny

becareful everyone for those things on the road

Speaking of pot holes. I've noticed that they seem to be worse this year than others. especially on the 401 or other 400 series highways including allan rd and dvp. they like developed over night and since people keep hitting them they have gotten huge and deep. toronto roads suck

glad to hear ur ok. ye the 401 is one crappy highway man. i've had a few close calls myself too. the thing is, the 401 never used to be this bad, but since the ****ty winter we had last yr...its completely merked it. they should def think about doing a better job in repairing it before people get seriously injured or even killed.
