Gated Shifting Plate Lancer

I was just wondering if there were any aftermarket parts for a gated shifter for the 09 Lancer. i know you can make one but i technically dont know how to do that ..i had someone explain it to me doesnt seem too hard..but why try to make something when it can be bought

anyone know of any companies selling this part?

Why would you want to turn a normal shifter into a gated shifter?

i dont think the distance between gears is long enough for this to work.

theoretically if you cut a piece of metal which can match up the shift pattern then it can be possible.
You would need to remove your shift boot and might need to shorten / lengthen your throws

but it seems a bit pointless because you wont get that stiff and precise feel that comes with a proper gated shifter (like the ones in lamborghinis ferraris etc).

i just like the look of them rather than the boot. and i am new to manual transmission so if i look down i can see which gear i am in :P i know im a newbie lol .. gotta learn somewhere.

so i dont really need the feel of the shifter more of the look and convienece and style of course.

The shifter isn't as stiff or precise as found in Ferraris or the Ford GT, unless you want basically a giant hole with metal trim, I don't see how it could work. You'd constantly be catching the shifter on the plate. If you just want to know what gear you're in, put some stickers on your centre console.

while i have been driving i havent missed a gear yet...good thing
i also like the look fo the gated shifters but i guess frabricating my own is the only way. and all the measurements need to be precise.. ill look more into it and maybe i can make it work down the road.

if you take exact measurements you'll be building yourself a plate with a rectangle cut into it.

Since you're new to manual, here... I used this shifter knob to learn the gears.
Just remember...
use R when you're facing the dealer's window and 1 when it's behind you. Don't want no oops moments! If you're facing away from the window, squeek those tires a little, as a g'bye to the dealer.

Just kidding lol
