Hey Guys.. i dont know if this is common but today i noticed when i start my car. there is about 4 clicks when i start turning the key then the car starts.. is this normal??

i though ti would ask here before i take it to the shop lol ... (my first car im looking after it :P )

 

yea its normal.
Look up on it up youtube if your not convinced. (i.e 2008 lancer exhaust)

You'll hear the ticking sound before they start there car

 

yeah just another noise the lancer makes lol

 

as i understand its a "checking" or "testing" thing that our car does everytime it starts up
its fine.

i understand wat ur sayingg...i thought it was annoying as hell...but now i dont even notice it..

 

ya its a computer,so you know when you start up your computer it runs through what they call a POST. power on self test. basically checks to see if its still alive. dont fret it. I just cant get over the annoying no seat belt chime....
