What synthetic oil are you buying for your EVO's? Your opinion on the best?

Well both vehicles I have came with Mobil 1. So I have stuck with it.
Now there are many threads on many boards that say many different things about which oil is the best and which oil's suck.
Bottom line is personal. My dealer is so sticky about it that they mark down everytime that I bring my own oil..... even thou its mobil 1.
Again personal choice

I've googled and looked at the sites...Mobil 1 seems to be a good choice, and then there's some good tests on the AMSOIL. I can't find any independent surveys, so you are probably right about it being a personal choice.

I used Amsoil on my last car and loved it but not really needed for the X, RA, etc. Amsoil is known for being able to last way longer without breaking down. Amsoil says their oil lasts 25,000km(or something close to that) or 1 year, which ever comes first before having to change oil. suggests 4,800km(severe) or 8,000km(regular) for oil changes on turbocharged cars(RA atleast), so if u went 25,000km or maybe even half that between changes, I'm pretty sure would give u nothing but a hassle if any warranty issue were to arise with your X. Also Amsoil is $14/litre at my local Canadian Tire while Mobil1 is only $9/litre so to me its a waste of $25 extra bucks for Amsoil when u can't get the full benefits out of it. just my $0.02

if you go racing, stick to a high quality synthetic oil like Motul, Amsoil

if you go regular or spirited driving, it does not matter the brand, just oil change frequency. you need clean oil to prevent the oil getting clogged up when cooling the turbo.

stick with name brands like mobil 1, castrol and you can't go wrong. change oil frequently (about 5000kms or so, for dirty environments or about 7000kms otherwise). save ur money for mods!

do a general search on the topic on this board, and you will get 1million different opinions.

Mobil 1 or AMSOIL. I used to run Royal Purple, but notice it started to break down around 2000 miles, on regular driving and occasional spirited driving. Unless you plan on racing and changing oils frequently, I would stick with the first 2 mentioned.

After all the advice here, that's what I'm thinking. I'm going to look at prices as that will make the final decision on which one.

Just use OEM filters or Nippon or Denso equivalents.

A Mobil1 or Amsoil oil change should be about $90 or so using 5w30.
