Ralliart - That wasn't a real nice thing to say after the man just wrecked his car. BTW: I have an Evo and your Ralliart isn't ****!!! A Civic Si could outrun the Ralliart. Don't step up to people when there are bigger dogs out there. WOOF!!!

Good luck redozrally, I hope all goes well....

I think Honda/Acura bodies are soft... I have nothing against civics, just civic drives lol... j/k... I used to own a crx and the handling of that little car was crazy... especially in the highway, it so small some cars wouldn't be stupid enough to follow...

After that it was an Integra GSR, though a bit bigger, the sound it makes when the vtec kicks in sounds so sweet. Plus having a redline of 8... so moving from that car to the lancer is like what the heck...

reason I moved to a lancer was that... my integra was stolen...
so... lancer =
lower insurance
none sporty car so no kids would want to jack it
cheaper monthly cuz of that 0% thing that was going on

those were the reason I bought the car....
I wasn't thinking oh wow this car is going to be fast
or oh wow this is a performance car

there are some people who buy lancers only because, they don't want to be just another civic driver, when it doesn't matter what car you buy if you're just the same idiot

so whats wrong of saying "no I wouldn't want to get a lancer again if I had the money to buy a more sporty car?"
its true isn't it?

some people just get all so sensitive when people talk about their car... damn man sorry if you got offended, but face it... The lancer isn't something to boast about... unless its the EVO

The only good thing my friends and I found good about the Lancer was that it looks good cuz its brand new. and the ride was smooth...

granted the lancer isn't what i would call a "fast" car, but as for performance in the handling sense it is quite good. i can do a lot of things in my car that some friends of mine would never try in their car, in fact i tried it in their car. in northern burlington there are quite a few roads which can really put the handling of a car to the test and we all took our cars up a certain set of roads. since no one could come close to my car for making the run, i was able to drive all of them just in case i had taken some secret rally driving lessons or something. anyway, none of the other cars felt as sturdy nor could they take certain parts of the run the same way that my lancer could. and it's not cuz of anything i've done to the car either, i have an intake, exhaust and motor mounts. this was done with a chevy cavalier, nissan sentra se-r spec v (x2), a pontiac lemans, a toyota matrix, and my car. so i don't know why you think it doesn't handle well, maybe you aren't driving it anywhere to actually "handle" it. the highway is long and straight not exactly a good test of suspension and handling

if you don't want another lancer - fine, but remember that if it had been some other car, you probs wouldn't have been able to make this post since they don't have internet access in the hospital beds. anyway, good luck with whatever you buy next

northern burlington? is that after oakville?
well anyway my car is getting fixed,
and I do miss my car...
I just hope they do a good job...
I was thinking if they can just do a front end conversion
since it would be cheaper for aftermarket than OEM parts
but then again I can be wrong, and then again ordering
the parts might take long, plus I like the stock look of the
2002-2003.

i don't know who your insurance company is, but when i got rear-ended over christmas, i asked the body shop if i could get an aftermarket rear lip.

they said that there was a huge class-action lawsuit before because insurance companies were using aftermarket parts for repairs because they were cheaper, and got sued.

in short, they gave me the shaft and i only got back the mitsu factory rear lip. no kaminari for me.

10 miles under the speed limit and you still managed to get the car 15 feet in the air? Good lord.

Civic SI outrun a Ralliart? I've raced 2 since I got mine and blew the doors off of both of them. Even gave the second one a split second head start after seeing the first one fail so miserably. And I roll an auto. (Long commute to and from work so I like to eat and talk on the phone while driving to help pass the time.) God help them when the mods go on. Glad you're OK but I don't think it was the car either. Just the luck. And as for EVO's... Nice cars, sweet to have a warranty with your turbo, but it is quickly becoming that you can make faster cars out of Ralliarts and even regular lancers with aftermarket mods for much less money. Roadrace is almost (if not already) there, and a guy in the phillapines is already squeezing 300 horses out of his. And he didn't spend close to 30 grand doing it. In my opinion, it's not so much what you have, it's what you have for the money. But as long as you're happy with what you've got, good times. As long as it's not a Ford!!!
P.S. Dogs? Woof? What is the world coming to?

agreed you can make faster cars for less, but you won't have warranty or reliability that the evo has. you could drop a turbo kit in your ralliart and outrun an evo but i'd love to see you try it on a road coarse, the evo will smoke you with awd. then if you want to put awd in your car it'll be WAY more than the evo. so in short if you want the whole package you need to have a good base to work with. if you just want something fast, but an srt-4

As long as it's not a ford?? wtf. i would drive a ford any day over a chev. yeah chevy has had 4 MAJOR recalls in less than 2 weeks totalling over 3 million cars. pfft, my 2 fords i had before my lancer never had problems or recalls for that matter. if you do some research you'll find that ford isn't nearly the least reliable car on the road

All very true. My problem with Fords has nothing to do with the vehicles. Don't take it personal, but it's some of the drivers. Not all, but enough. It seems like most of the time I get cut off, stuck behind someone going way under the speed limit, or see driving that is just causing a disruption to other drivers on the road, it's being done by a Ford driver. And my grandfather (who has three Fords and a Honda, and god love him he thinks they're all great) is the only person who's heard my opinion and disagrees with it. Even coworkers with Fords themselves admit to seeing the same pattern. My thoery is that not all Ford drivers are bad drivers, but that all bad drivers are Ford drivers. It's not true all of the time, but like I said before, it's true enough of the time to stand out to me. I agree with every thing you said was good about the EVO though. I just disagreed with the guy who said the Ralliart was ****. I don't think it's cool to call any car a piece of **** to it's owner if they like it. It lacks class. I just got rid of my '99 Sebring JXI because I'd learned to hate it for many reasons. But I would bite my tongue around anyone who had one and loved it. You won't even hear me talking trash about all the civics I've raced and beat. $3,000 in the right hands, and any one of them could have handed me my ***. These days a modded out low end car can whoop up on a mid level or high end stock car and in many cases for less money. It's all so cool to see. You can't call anything ****, 'cause the **** could be spanking you tomorrow and you'd never see it coming because nobody drives with their hood open.

By the way, Doc, your OZ looks sweet. My Ralliart is the same color. The only thing I'd change about it's looks would be the grill. I'd rather it look like yours but I'm working on getting that changed. I found a guy who is trying to get me a Mazda 6 style grill from out of the country. Hope he can.
