Evo IV in Calgary
Evo IV in Calgary
This is a repost of a sighting I had almost a year ago but I just figured out there was actually a Canadian forum!
Anyway, I was in Calgary stopped at a red light at a busy intersection when in front of my eyes, comes a truck hauling an Evo IV on the bed!!!
My eyes popped out and for a sec, I almost pulled an illegal turn across 2 lanes to follow it. It couldn't believe what I just saw with my own eyes.
It just went silently into the night and we went our separate ways. It was probably going to the Bighorn Rally.

Yes - you are correct.... it was an EVO IV that belongs to Andrew Comrie Picard that owns the Muskateer Racing Team. He is actually from AB but lives and works in New York.
The Evo IV formerly belonged to Richard Tuthill from UK that drove it to winning a fair number of US National events.
Andrew will be back in AB this May for the Rocky Mountain Rally and in BC in October for the Pacific Forest Rally. The word is that there will be a number of EVOs this year racing in AB and BC. Expect to see EVO 4,6,7 and 8.
If your lucky - you might even see a white 03 US lancer as well

All rallys in BC are hosted by the West Coast Rally Association.
Check out the website at www.rallybc.com
There are mainly 2 forms of rallying:
1) TSD Rally (aka navigational rally)
2) Performance Rally (aka Pro-rally)
The second one is the type that is exactly the same as the WRC on TV. Most of the pro-rally events in BC are held in Merritt, BC. Spectating is highly encouraged and free
You can get quite close to the action just like what you see on WRC.
In BC, there are 2 championship events: one in June and one in October.
If you want more info, we can start another thread I guess

Emre
Emre,
I believe there hasn't been any EVOs entering the Targa Newfoundland before.
If there was any Evos, it would proabbly be Frank and Dan from Four Star Motorsport with their Evo 6 or the Erikson brothers with their Evo 4 or even Andrew Comrie Picard with his Evo 4. All Canadian Rally Champs.
There's should also probably be some eastern US folks and maybe a few imports from Europe that should enter.
IMHO - Mitsubishi Evos would slaughter the course as they rule in the twisty technical stuff.
Keep eye out on Targa Newfoundland site:
