Lancers are going to sell like crazy there....I was in Toronto a month ago and everyone had modded civics (prob due to the lack of competition). I guess it's way cheaper to buy a car there too..

yup, but when you see the lancer OZ is 20000$ and the nissan sentra se-r is 20000$ also, same price, but with a 2.5L 165hp and 4 discs brake, I am wondering... and the SpecV is 22000$ with a 175hp and 6speed tranny and limited slipping differential... I don't think that a lancer OZ with 2000$ mod can have all of this!

yup i'm talking in CAD$, the nissan SE-R is a little less than 20k$CAD and the SpecV is about 21500$CAD, 175hp, 6speed, LSD, 4 discs, 17" alloy wheel, 280W 9 speakers audio with 6 CD changer, etc... tempting!!!

it seems the price of car in USA is more expensive
For example a lancer OZ-Rally is 20k$CAD which is what? 13k$US? so why the lancer OZ-Rally is sold about 16k$US in USA?

I think the Spec V and Lancer are in different classes all together. To me the Lancer seems like Mitsubishi's answer to the Corolla, Cavalier, or any 4 door economy car. It's not meant to haul ***, but go from point A to point B. Nissan was smarter though, by making a decent car for the price you pay.

it should, when the EVO will be sold in USA it's almost 100% sure it will be sold in Canada as well... for the moment you can stay in the "Evo rumor" forum

yup but the SE-R (and the Spec V) is basically a Sentra, for the same price than the lancer OZ. There is rumors than mitsu will make a low cost evo which will be a OZ with better engine and spec, let's wait on this one...

Talking Cheaper cars in Canada

It seems that most car manufacturers that sell cars in Canada usually sell them for around $3000-4000 (CAD) cheaper when you compare the converted price from the US. It probably is due to the extra 7 % GST (tax) that we have to pay here. If they charged the converted US prices here it would make most cars too expensive for people to consider.

There are exceptions such as for the new Mini Cooper S where they seem to be charging the same price as the US. It's pretty much a straight converted price.

We do get "raped" the price of gas also

and yea, from the est. prices posted up from a couple of "future" dealers (Laval), the lancer will cost a tad less.
