V400 idle problems
So I just picked up my cobb ap today and I downloaded the update and installed the stage 1 stock 91 oct v400 and the stage 1 cobb sf 91 oct v400. I tried the stock stage 1 map first and right when I started up my car, it hit 2000 rpm and dropped very slowly until it hit 1500-1250 and then dropped extremely quickly to the regular 750 rpm idle. When I turned on the a/c, the rpms started fluctuating from 750 up to 1500rpm during idle. When I turned off the a/c, it would fluctuate from 750 rpm to 1250 rpm during idle. When I would start driving the car, everything seemed fine until i would go into neutral and coast to a stop. Then it would start fluctuating from 750 rpm to 1250 rpm erratically until i came to a stop. I then decided to switch to the cobb sf stage 1 91 oct, it was a lot better but it would still fluctuate from 750 rpm to 1250 rpm until i would come to a stop. Idle would remain at 750 rpm during idle whether the a/c was on or off, just like it was when I was running the factory tune. Also during free revving, the rpms drop quite slowly. Is this normal? I didnt log at all because I read that you should drive about 50 miles before going WOT. My mods are listed in my sig below.
Thanks for any help

I responded in our forums but I will put it here.
You have an ETS intake and the calibration is not made for the ETS intake. You will need a protune or to put the stock intake back on.
Please feel free to contact me if you need anything at all.

I had emailed cobb support about this and Jared advised me to try these maps out, many people have been using the v201 maps with the ets intake without any problems. Was something changed in the recent update that creates this problem? Thanks Mitch for the quick replies. if worst comes to worst, I'll just purchase the cobb sf intake and turbo inlet and sell the ets intake.

so do you think that I should just drive with it for a while and see if it gets any better? how long do you think it would take for the ecu to learn the fuel trims?

I do not have V400 maps, I have a protune from Cobb. But I had this idle issue once and pulled the codes with the AP. I had some weird ACD codes or something like that. I looked them up and they don't reference any actual Mitsu code, but were common on recently flashed ecu's, as reported by other posts on the forum. I would pull your codes and reset the ecu with the map that is giving you trouble and see if that helps. Or, follow Cobbs advice earlier and get a different intake, or protune.
It happens to me for a bit every map I flash with an AP, v400 or otherwise. I've read other similar threads. What most people notice is the bouncing tach when the clutch is in coasting to a stop.

I just went for an hour drive and the bouncing tach did start to settle but it didnt ever stop and go back to normal. I am going to install my stock airbox today and see how that goes, most likely I'll buy the cobb sf and sell my ets.
FWIW, I had the same issue when I installed the stage 1 93oct on my 2010 GSR. Shortly thereafter I uninstalled it for other reasons. I just re-installed today and got the same thing. Hopefully it will sort itself out after a few miles. I'm gonna give it a week, if nothing happens its off to the "for sale" forums...
