2011 v3

COBB V3 Stage 1 issues
I have a 2011 GSR. Just installed the V3 on Friday. It's stock for now so I am running the stage 1 91 v403 map. I have boost and A/F ratio set on the display. Did some around town driving and freeway to let things settle in.

Did I 4th gear pull on the freeway this morning and was a little shocked at what I saw. 29 pounds of boost and 10.4 A/F mix? Not my first dance with turbo cars. The last one a had was on a stand alone F.A.S.T system with a huge turbo, large Spearco front mount intercooler and full 3" side dump exhaust.

That amount of boost from a stock engine along with the super fat A/F ratio doesn't add up to me. The car runs smooth and pulls nice but no way this can be the norm. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

What mod do you have on your car?
U most likely have something installed not mentioned, maybe a test pipe or intake
? Do you actually have a lc-1 wideband if not that AFR reading is wrong .

I just got the car a few weeks ago. The only things that appear to be changed an aftermarket air filter and a GFB blow off valve. I don't think I have an LC-1 wideband sensor and no idea why the COBB system shows that I do. Going to a friends shop today to get some proper scanning done and see what is going on.

Ok so that is the problem the BOV will increase boost by 2 psi and aftermarket intake, because the map were designed for STOCK BOV and stock intake. You can either put the stock BOV back or find a tuner to decrease your wastegate duty cycle.
If you have a cone filter intake you must rescale your Maf or you might also overboost depending on which brand you have.
Best advice for you is revert to stock or get a protune before permanent damage occurred.

The Lc-1 is reading ur rear o2 if you dont have a wideband, so the reading is wrong.

Yeah 29psi a bit on the hot side for the stage 1 LWG setting! Got it tuned on Friday at English Racing. Now in the 22-25PSI range. Awesome guys there and it was well worth the 7 hour round trip for the tune.

Had the same problem with that same map. Only mods were an aftermarket panel filter and GFB blow off valve. Pulled down 29+PSI. Any good COBB tuner can fix you up.

I have a 2011. I had similar situation on mine... i was hitting 27lb. Worried me so I have a contact over at COBB and he told me to run the LWG map of the Stage 1+CHFF 93 v403 . So they have one for 91. Do that, you can find it on their site as well. Basically, is a map for over achieving your boost levels. Made a huge difference for me. I'm supposed to send him my datalogs so he can take a closer peek. When i really get on it i still hit 25.4 so i'm up there but thats not unheard of at least. Try that out, see what happens. If you want the guy at cobb's email message me and we can talk.
