15' GSR Stage 1 93 *Advice*

Hey guys! I've read through the thread and didn't find exactly what I'm looking for. I am coming from a 15' STi and really want your guys advice before I install the accesport. This is ONLY in regards to the stage 1 tune vs stock tune.

The stock tune of the GSR feels so restrictive. I'm hoping this helps. I'm only going to be installing the stage 1 93 octane map. When I later do bolt ons, I will get a protune. Cobb claims 235/247 to 270/277 with just a tune. That would be incredible.

My question is number one, is this safe? And two, is it better than the stock tune? I hear not to use the Cobb tune with the MR. I'm buying the accessport new from a friend for $400. He bought it a month ago for his MR and decided to tune on open source. I hope it will have the 15' GSR maps already on it.

Please comment if you've installed the stage 1 on your GSR, especially if it's a 15'. And let me know if you honestly felt a difference.

Can't say for a 15 but when I went from stock to stage 1 on the 08 it made a big difference, the car went from being ordinary to more like an EVO... Sounds odd but I went from an 8 to a X and found that X felt slow and less responsive, after the stage 1 OTS map it felt more like the 8.

Not sure about those numbers but perhaps it would be close... As they say mileage varies

As buy the extra just retune using the AP however once you reach your financial limit or maximum mod count, get a protune... It is well worth getting that extra out of your mods, and you just won't get them from the AP OTS map even with a few tweaks.

I ended up flashing to Stage 1 yesterday and I cannot believe the difference. Night and day. It now pulls all the way to redline. No over boost and no knock so far. This should be the first mod for any stock Evo. Cobb really has a solid tune.

And like you said, something felt off stock. The car literally died at 5500rpm. It now feels like how I imagined the Evo would. Thanks for the reply!

I just got my '15 GSR last week. With less than 300 miles on the clock I'm planning on making this my first mod of many.
