Our cars will be even more valuable! Bad: Those who bring their cars to dealer for service, GG.

I would guess that Nissan dealers would service Mitsubishis and honor warranty. Lets see if this actually happens. I noticed that the Mitsu Facebook page has gone quiet.

Yeah looks like the beginning of the end...concentrating on the low-end Asian market, already pulling out from Europe and possibly USA. R.I.P. Mitsubishi motors

Unfortunately I'd say it was expected, auto brands across the board have been scaling back and merging to stay competitive :/

Stay competitive or concentrate wealth while making us all as close to serfs as possible without actually saying serfdom?

What's not great is that certain parts will become even harder to find... and cost a lot more.

I don’t really see how this means evo values are going up.

wouldn’t it mean less oem parts support and so it is a pain in the *** to get replacement stuff?

It actually works the opposite way that you are thinking. Parts will be harder to get making the value of lower mileage good condition EVO's go up. The more rare parts get the more the value of the vehicle increases.

^ Exactly. Especially for an enthusiast based car such as the older evos..midevo8 is thinking more along the lines of regular economy cars..warranties and other dealer services are no longer available lowering the value for these types..such as an outlander for example. Little to no evo owners care about these types of dealer services except parts dept..in turn raising the value of the used market significantly. This is good for used parts vendors or part outs..sucks for us enthusiasts who are never selling our cars and look to buy parts all the time.

this process will weed out the "kids" too and the community would be more heavily geared towards more aggressive type enthusiast's

Mitsubishi hasn't spelled out exactly what this strategy shift means for developed markets. But they clearly won't be a top priority now.

Yeah. Worst case scenario, we can always switch to Subaru's for daily driving (flame suit on). But I hope that the specialty auto part business will find a way to be profitable, so one day the Evo parts would be like Skyline R33/R34 parts or first-gen NSX parts: pricey, but stable in supply.
