My vote would be to just rebuild the Evo 9. Maybe a back up camera… and factory optioned Volks.

in relation to its size, i find the evo oem fenders wide enough. Any more would be overkill. Anyways this is all major dreaming Mitsubishi is so dead they aren't even coming out with a watered down successor anymore like all the other big Japanese brands let alone re-manufacturing a 20 year old car. Just face it people they aren't coming back.

Mitsubishi could single handedly restore themselves to 90s glory and success with two simple moves. Not sure how nobody in the US branch of that company has brain cells to think of it

we should all start emailing them requesting the evo return, and do it weekly.

GRC is able to fit wider wheels but they put it an AWD system that doesn't work as well.

You are just going to get blocked by the spam filter. This is 2025 where the spam filter AI will flag your account and then put your emails directly into trash lol.

Mitsubishi is not in a strong position in the future but in the present they are ok. The US is one of their biggest markets since they pulled out of China. Mitsubishi doesn't have any strong EV offerings which is why they had to ditch China. The people that buy their cars dont want EVs anyway. This helps them sell cars for people wanting that niche: modern JDM ICE car built to a category low price point.

Just like Mazda where they sell a Miata with no compromises Mitsubishi can offer something similar. However, those bean counters aren't going to green light the production unless that platform can be shared with a couple different models. That is just how Mitsubishi has historically built their Evo brand.

Considering a Tesla Model 3 Performance is faster car than any other Evo ever made. Then I think that is the benchmark where we can expect to see the next Evo surpass or fail trying. The Evo has always offered more performance than competitors at the same price point.
