My 1st time to the track :)

Last night I took my car to the track for the very 1st time. I went with my dad and a few friends. I've got a Black Evo with the mods listed in my sig and I had no clue what to expectfor times. For some reason my friend told me to go around to the dial-in lanes because its faster, so i'm sitting around with all these low 12 second cars and faster. All night people kept crashing or somthing went wrong so it took another 20 mins to prep the track again. Finally after a very long wait it was my turn and here was my 1st run

R/T: .267
60': 2.314
330: 5.929
1/8: 8.892
MPH: 81.73
1000: 11.450
1/4: 13.592
MPH: 105.50

I didn't want to launch the car very hard so I slipped it at about 3-4k and I shifted easy because hell this was my 1st time so I wanted to take it easy lol. Also on this 1st run I went up aganist a chick in a camero who ran a 12.3@114. Here are the results for my 2nd run:

R/T: .051
60': 2.557
330: 6.270
1/8: 9.250
MPH: 81.93
1000: 11.815
1/4: 13.965
MPH: 105.38

On the 2nd run I slipped the clutch a bit too fast so I didn't get much of anything there, after that I was shifting as fast as I could to try to make up for lost time and plus it was my last run of the night. Overall it was an amazing experience for me to finally run at the track and I met some really cool people aswell. My dad ran his 745Li(stock) and my friend ran his Chevy SS truck(stock). They both ran constant 14.9s but my dad beat the truck on the last run which didn't please my friend too much On the way home there were a ton of the cars driving home on the highway so of course you know what happened lol, There was a 350Z(black) and a silver wingless neon racing up and down and then the Neon lined up with me and finally I just said the hell with it and did 1 run with him and beat em Overall a very good night for me. My only question is that what could I have run if I had a good 60ft time like 1.6-1.8?

Yes, with the 60 ft. times 1.6-1.8 you would likely run a high twelve. Your launch is the most important part of the run and best of all, you don't have to be at the track to practice. I would start slipping at 5,000 or higher. Damn good reaction time on the second run, but it doesn't do you any good bracket racing. You break 12's in that car if you get your launch down. Also, remember that the clock doesn't start until you break the beam so sit on the line as long as you like in preperation of the run.

Those traps are good for high 12's. I have similar mods (no flash or pump) and at 19.5 psi I went a 13.20 at 102mph and I missed 2nd gear. It would have been a low 13.1-13.0 run. My cars runs in the 8.3's in the 8th. I still don't know how to launch very well. my best 60ft' is 1.82. So learn how to launch if you fill comfortable with it. you'll run 12.8's pretty easy with that speed. and your trap a tad bit faster with a good launch. good luck.

Yes your 60' needs help.

I ran a 1.8 60' in my stock MR (w/ 2K miles) and my 1/8 mile was 8.59 @ 79 mph. With your mods and a good launch, you should easily be hitting high 12's.

I think he can run mid 12s, because I believe that not only could your 60FTs improve, but also your trap speeds. If you keep practicing, I could see you run a 12.5-12.6@107-108MPH.

Yeah my friend said that I would probally be at mid-12s because he ran a 12.8 with just MBC and Exhaust.

12.6-12.9 with a good launch. You are losing about 2-4 mph with easy launch.

Nice mph's.

Get your launch dialed in and you'll be happier the next time around.

Hey Sleet.. I was the other black Evo there on Friday night. I only got 2 runs in also but they both pretty much sucked for me. 13.7 @ 106.49. My worst 60 ft time EVER since I own my evo. 2.44. My second run was at about 11:30 I ran a 13.1 @ 107.60. Which is also pretty bad with a 1.946 Sixty foot. Over all I know my car and my self are slowly improving. My trap keeps going up. I also live in parkland, so let me know next time you want to go up there and I'll go also..

315 whp should be seeing 110-111 trap speeds. Launch that focker.

Parkland Isles.. Just north of the Publix and Wal-mart on coral ridge drive. where do you live? By the way, I just had 264's installed but they are not tuned at all. That's why my traps were going up a little from about a 105.xx now high 107's.. Hopefully I see a mid 12 second slip soon after my tune.
