help me please

can someone please help me i went to the drag strip tonight i dont think that my evo is performing as it should.
i have 24,000 miles and im fresh from an oil change. my intercooler water sprayer is not working. i have a cone air filter and an aftermarket uic piping.
i launched at over 5,000 rpm's both times with an rt of .84 and .97, 60 ft of 2.009 and 1.97 from what i understand those are respectable times. the 330 ft were 5.9017 and 5.8094.
in both races i was against my friends 05 evo 8 stock. i beat him in all three of the above listed times but from then on he drove right bye me. my 1/4 mile times were 14.4 at 95.66mph and 14.2 at 96.40mph and i didnt miss or mess up any shifts along the way
my question is: My quarter mile times should be in the 13's at over 100mph with those r/t, 60 ft, and 330ft times, no?
is my engine lagging in 4th gear?
i was under the impression that the intercooler water sprayer was only good for like 5hp?
if anyone has any insight it would be greatly appriciated

A few things might be happening. Your clutch could be slipping. Do you know what boost you are running? Did you get a tune after replacing your intake? These factor could make a big difference in your quarter mile times.

There are a bunch of things you should think about. Whats your tire pressure?? Tooo high and your 60ft will suck and too low and your top end will suck, gotta experiment. The 1.97 is not a great 60ft time, alot of FWD guys run 2.0 60ft times. If you can get your 60t to like 1.85 that would be nice, also how are you launching?? Slipping the clutch? Dumping the clutch? At what RPM are you shifting? Are you over revving it? There is alot of things to factor, Temp? Altitude? Alot of variables......

thank for the replies, i have the mitsu gauges and my boost is only reading .8 km/cm2 i am pretty sure that isn't correct though but im not sure. i bought the car used with an intake so i dont know if it was tuned. as far as launch i am pretty much dumping. and i am shifting right atr about 6800 rpm or so. the thing is that i beat my friend in his 05 stock evo off the line and to 60ft and 330ft but in the top of 3rd and through 4th he runs right bye me.

Your 60 foots aren't that bad. When I was getting used to launching my Evo at the drag strip, I was doing 2.00-2.10 60 foots and still ran 13.90's@99MPH. This was when I was completely stock and running on California 91 octane. Just practice your launches and you'll improve. I would check the usual things like leaks and your spark plugs. What RPM were you shifting at? My Evo liked 7000 RPM in each gear when I was competely stock. After I installed my exhaust, it now likes 7500 RPM. Other Evos may be different. Experiment! As someone mentioned earlier, you may have to have your intake tuned for your car. Cone filters can throw your MAF off. I just run the stock air box with a K&N Drop in filter and have no problems.

if I were you put the stock intake back on, if it's not tuned for it, that may be slowing you down. 60 foot needs some work, even when I bog my launch I cut a 1.7, I think you may get better times reving to 5500 and release the clutch a bit quicker while flooring the gas, this will help get you off the line quicker.
