.25 reaction, 1.7 60', 110mph trap but 12.8????

First time at drag strip. Managed these numbers:
1.7 60'
110mph trap
12.8 E.T--Shouldn't this be higher?

If E.T should be higher, where should it be with that trap. 4th gear grinds and this run was the last of many--no cool down between this and prior run since track was closing. Can faster shifting help my time?

More info on car: Boosting 20psi. Some boost leak or other boosting issue preventing greater than factory boost despite tune for more.

Nice run. I'm sure you mean lower on the 12.8, as in less Elapsed Time, right? Yes, with 110 mph you can definitely have a much quicker ET.

Number 42 on the DSMTimes.org list ran a 12.285 @ 110.85, so you could definitely hit mid/lower 12s with perfect driving. Very well done for the first time out, though!

Thanks guys. I will try again in a couple of weeks once I resolve my 4th gear grind. I was told to try some different gear fluid thats worked for others that had the same issue. Low twelves will definitely be nice!

As a side note, I let a good friend of mine who also owns an AWD turbo (s4) car run mine at the track that same day. He ran a 14.6E.T. It was quite embarrassing.

I am on stock clutch myself. The first few runs, the clutch took a beating but then I started getting it right and it didn't burn. It slips a little bit now though. I need an upgrade anyway.

My best reaction for the day was .08 which I hear is approacjing pro territory. I did that a couple times... Funny enough, my 60' sucked on both of those runs because of clutch slippage. If I had managed a good launch on top of the .08 reaction time, there's no telling what I might have run.

Let us know how your trip turns out...

your R/T has absolutely nothing to do with your ET or MPH. The timing doesn't start when the light turns green, it starts when your car moves over the sensor... R/T only matters if you're racing against someone, and whether you physically cross the line before them. You could sit at the green light for 10 seconds and it doesn't mean you'll run a 22.5 second 1/4 - you'll still run the 1/4 mile in the same amount of time. Try it sometime if you don't believe me...
