Congratulations Tim/Trina!!! Glad to see you running some better times I would recommend dropping the front tire pressure a little and maybe even raising the rear slightly depending on what pressures you are currently at. Are you running stock shocks in back? Do you have a rear strut bar? Both stiffer shocks (like adjustable Konis) and a rear strut bar could help cut your 60 by giving you better weight transfer. Shamus got his boost problems figured out and has been doing some 29psi pulls and it seems like it is pulling harder than my car so hopefully he is on the way to 10's as well. How far is GLD from Madison? Hopefully we can make it down some night. I agree the night time temps would be much better but we would probably end up having to crash down there due to the driving distance. Are you planning on going to the Buschur shoot out?

Yes we will be going to the shootout. What days are you going to leave and come back on so I can tell my work by the way?

I am running stock suspension with no nothing done to it (No sway bar mods or aftermarket tower bracing). The tire pressure was about 25psi all around. GLD is about 1.5 hours away from Madison depending on traffic it could be a little longer but not much. If you ever feel like coming over here you can always crash at my place. Glad to hear Shamus is getting his car figured out... Vassil needs to finally get some good times in as well. I might go run it again next week (If so it will be at the same boost most likely unless i can find a spring before then) so I will try the different tire pressure thing. I would really enjoy having other people with me at the track... especially ones that know what they are doing I just go there and have no one except a sometimes a few spectators that own most likely 18 second cars that have never raced. But yeah.... let me know what days your goin to the shootout so I can make sure I take off the right days and let me know if you plan on coming my way... your always welcome to crash at my place! Maybe we can get Adam or Cosmo to come out sometime with us as well and really beat up on some poor guys

For the 10's you will also need a drive shaft loop since the car is AWD. It is a requirement for all cars that are driven at the rear wheels. I believe you will also need a 5pt harness with certified belts and seat built for 5pt harness.

If the track is particular the seats won't pass tech. They cannot be adjustable meaning have to be in a fixed upright position. The drive shaft loop goes under the car and is a U shaped bracket that is bolted to the floor board. If your drive shaft breaks it keeps it from coming through the floor board and sticking you in the bum!

We are going to be leaving on Thursday afternoon probably around 1:30 to 2:00 and will be driving at least 6 to 8 hours (It took about 10 to get there last year). We could either crash at a rest area or get a hotel on the way. Do you have a preference? We will then drive back on Monday probably leave around 9 or 10 in the morning. We will be staying here:

SANDUSKY, OH/CEDAR POINT AREA
5513 MILAN ROAD
SANDUSKY, OHIO 44870
4196266671

Not sure what the room rates are as we are getting a room for free with Holiday Inn points. That is the only reason I'm really staying there. I was told it is about fifteen minutes to the track. Here is a link to some other accomodations as well http://www.norwalkraceway.com/master_content.html

Look under Fan Facts at the top and then Where to Stay. There are a few hotels listed as well as a travel agency in the area.

Thanks for the offer! We will definitely try to get down that way to GLD sometime. I have to work this coming weekend, but we are planning on going to Iowa again on the 30th for their test and tune. It is a very good track (all concrete, downlslope, and surround by corn which they say gives it a higher O2 content). I usually dropped 3 tenths there over Slippery Rock. You can usually get in ten to fifteen runs on the test and tune days and it is like $35 bucks. There is also a hotel right across the track we stay in for about $45 for two people. Last time we stayed she gave us two rooms that were joined with two doubles beds, a single bed, couch, fridge, and kitchen area. It only had one bathroom though.

For your tire pressure I would drop the fronts to 22psi and raise the backs until you just start to lose a little traction and then drop them a psi or two. The fronts could go as low as 20 but you will start to lose a little mph. Something that you will have plenty of with the GT35R

How many runs do you normally get in at GLD and what is the cost?

That is the part that makes me happy. I paid $25 to race from 6pm to 11pm. When I got there I assumed it was like Rock Falls or GLD on an import day so I lined up immediatly. I realized there were only 2 cars before me so I didnt even have time to start up my laptop for the first run. I figured that was a fluke so I lined up immediatly after the run and again.. I think 5 or 6 cars before me at most. It was like this until around 9:30 or 10pm... then lots of rice showed up making it slower in the staging lanes but still not bad at all. I only made five runs but I let the car cool down alot after the first two runs and then every run I would let it sit for a while. A car crashed (I would guess an 8 second car) going well over 100.. hit the wall twice, ambulence and everything showed up which took over an hour so they actually stayed open late because we had to wait for that... real cool track. The track itself is alot nicer than Rock Falls also but not something you would see on ESPN or anything but still pretty nice. I know the track is decent because Adam from DevoTuning has run there alot and Cosmo goes there a decent amount also (He hit his 10.8 there at around 126 or 128 I think). They have a few cars running 5s or 6s that race there also so it must be prepped decently. The other real nice thing is the night racing... it is lit up like a chrismas tree so you dont need headlights or anything but the temps drop a TON when it gets dark which makes the car much happier It is also surrounded by corn fields if that helps you out any

And yes, I am sure the GT35r will give me plenty of mph... I am hitting 123 at 25.5psi... I cant imagine the car at 30-35psi. I might run there again next week but almost for sure the week after that (Some import day thing) on the 30th. Im trying to convince Vassil to come over and run with me that day.

Maybe I can talk Shamus into coming that way. Is the race during the day on the 30th or at night?

I think it is afternoon into the night but Im not sure. I now have a bunch of reasons to go.. there are a few guys that dont seem to believe my car runs what it does so I need to go prove it to them for some cash. Ther other reason is some other little kid that has an Evo and the same setup pretty much at mine and somehow. after he gets his motor built his car will go from a 11.9 to a 10.9 with nothing else aside from the motor.. go figure Anyways.. let me know for sure.. it sounds like Vassil is going for sure so it should be a good time. Chances are I will only make a few runs before they boot me but its a cool track to hang out at, at least.

I left a voice mail for Shamus. I would love to see your 10 second run and get it on video and hopefully his too. I will let you know what he says. I checked the calendar and the racing is from 3pm to 11pm which is awesome as later in the night it should be cooler

Well there is some more good news. Vassil should almost for sure go since it races into the night. If he goes he can probably bring the $7k camera that we filmed with before. It films bad @ss. The only thing I am slightly worried about is if I get 2 runs at 11.1 or 11.0 and they throw me off before I get a chance for the 10's. I guess only time will tell. I found a place in town that has the spring for me to I will be raising the boost sometime later this week and with my datalogger see how much more power the car makes. I just noticed everytime I go to the track I gain about .5 seconds off the ET... hopefully I can continue the trend and hit the 10

If you come are you going to bring the Evo or DSM? I would like to see both so it doesnt make me feel any different either way but I would like to see what the stock MR with the flash does. I would think you could hit a mid 12 but I dunno. It would be cool to see. I am also excited about Shamus's car.... hopefully he can make it out there. You all can stay the night at my place also so dont worry about that.

On a side note... I did notice my best 60' time of my runs that night was a 1.71 so I think I am not doing too bad on the launches... A little work on making the tires spin less and maybe a little more power so I dont need to slip the clutch as far and I think I could get consistant 1.6s.

Nope, wasnt me I am finally starting to actually figure out what is going on with my car. I can finally deduce problems and fix them and I am pretty sure I will hit a 10.99 or real close to it next time Im out at 30psi. I plan to try to fix my tire spin problem (Front tires now spin enough where I can see smoke from the wheel wells from INSIDE the car). I need to get more traction to all 4 instead of letting a few spin so much more. The rear tires spin but no where near as much. Ill try to get that fixed along with launching a little higher RPM and hold it in first a touch longer (Currently seem to be shifting at around 7k instead of 7.8k or so. I think all that will give me better 60 foots around the 1.6 range and the more boost will help pull my MPH higher than they currently are. I am guess I will run an 11.0-11.1 @127-128 my first few runs. If I can get my one good launch I think it will be a 10. It is just SOOO nice to finally have all the bugs worked out of the car. Granted I have wierd clutch switches that I need to physically turn on and off and crap like that but the car actually is running where it should be.

I also really wish I didnt foul plugs out every 4 days but oh well. Maybe an ignition upgrade will help.. i dont think there is much hope though. This much race gas, these cold of plugs, this much boost... dont think they are ever gonna live through it much longer than a week
