But won't the 60 ft times also be affected by elevation. thereby increasing 60 ft times in higher elevations?

o wells its the best I have seen stock evos run in vegas I usually see noobs run mid to low 14s and bog really bad at the line...like I said on the 2.0 run It hesitated really bad at the launch and felt like it was hitting fuel cut or getting detonation right after I launched the car ... could also be like a misfire so I let off 2-3 times

Well, what settings are in the S-AFC? I inquired about the settings above and whether or not you have a logging device, because if too much fuel is being removed, you may be running lean and detonating, or at the very least timing is being pulled quite a bit...

Scary...

I had settings like that in the WINTER on 93oct, and it worked very well, but in 90-degree weather with 93oct, I only have that much fuel removed WITH A FUEL PUMP. On 91oct, I can't imagine how much knock that is inducing. Of course, I wouldn't put in settings without logging and tuning it myself to begin with. He needs to AT LEAST turn those down 4-5 points each, then go log some runs to see what the narrowband O2s and timing are. Pulled timing on the top end due to knock would cause a loss of mph. Those same settings with 100oct mixed in will probably put you on the other extreme of the pendulum and give you 105mph I bet...

these settings seem right inline with posted settings on their web site posted by kris miller in the afc install, considering you have 91 octane. (on a side note i always thought you fattin it up in the winter.) but i'll call ams to make sure.

yeah all those settings seem to be pretty conservative IMO. my settings are more aggressive and have been doing it on 90 oct AK gas. pretty crappy but i still pull good numbers. on a street tune for me i usually go about -17 on top to -21 or -22 on race days. with the -17 tune i drive with about 19-21 psi with no knock and the afr's are great. betwen 11.2-11.5 all the way. on the race tune i generally use a full tank of 90 with a whole bottle of torco octane additive. at -21-22 i still have no knock. the afr's are leaned out a lil bit more but not to serious where they start to make the motor hot. top speed runs go between 800-900c. if i could remember what my exact settings where i would give them to you but these will have to do for now.

1k 1.5k 2.5k 4k 4.5k 5.2k 5.8k 6.4k 7k 7.6k

-2 -2 -4 -6 -9 -12 -15 -17 -17 -17

these will at least get you on the right track. with this tune and some octane increased gas i was pulling 12.6@110 with a 1.78 60' launching at 5.5k. my other suggestion is to get rid of that stupid 5k rev limit. my launches improved greatly due to the disabling of that limiter. with my race settings i run a current 12.43@112.5 with a 1.76 60' with the same launch. my mods go as is: cat back, cat delete, afc-2, cone filter, boost controller. those are all of the power mods i have. hope this puts you into the 12's and puts you on the right track.

I don't know, man, what you are saying is the exact opposite of what should be happening. There is no way you should be that leaned out on increased boost in 90-degree weather (that's what we're talking about) on LOW octane gas. If I see knock on 93oct at 21-22psi in 85degree weather with only 12% removed up top, then I don't see how you could possibly remove 17% on LOWER octane unless you are talking about cool temps in Alaska. Also, on a mix of 104/93oct, I only go -15 across the board in 80+ degrees and 23psi, and that's with perfect timing and a 12.0 AFR. What you are saying is with LOWER octane and LEANER settings you have RICHER AFRs with no knock? I know and you know that each car is different and that weather conditions play a big part, but I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend AGAINST providing this advice to others in this situation (heat+low octane), because they are likely to knock through the roof.

haha i didnt realize you were talkig about 90+ degree weather. yeah , AK weather has a lot to do with it. but when i took readings with a wide band i was in the 11.2-11.5 afr range. the weather up here is about 70-80 right now with like 50% humidity. so its somewhat hot. i dunno the settings have worked wonders for me. but, its up to him if he wants to use them. BTW, im still impressed with your times Warrtalon!!! im trying to get my ET's down lower but it sems that im just stuck. but my traps went up. the other weekend a guy with an 03 hit 12.01@111. so does that mean he's getting a better launch than me or what? im not sure what his 60' was. so some info would be much appreciated. thanks
