12.17@112.2 stock turbo srt

Just thought I would throw this up there for all the srt4 haters. Took my roomates stock turbo srt out last night with, tbe, fmic, mbc, injectors, and safc on 100 octane and ran those times in 80degree weather. Also ran 1.71-1.80 60fts all night. Car pulled damn hard. The record stock turbo is 12.09@115. Im gonna take it out next week just to see if I can break the record. I think I will do it. Not to mention boost was spiking 20psi and falling hard to 14psi. I was very suprised with his car.

That's amazing. What slicks were you using?

There were 7 SRT-4s at the track on Friday, most of them with all the regular mods, and a few with big FMICs, open exhaust, and slicks. Unfortunately, none of them ran fast enough to make the Quick 8, which only required a 13.5 or better.

I'm surprised you ran a 12.1 with that mph despite those 60'. I know slicks help to hook, but I would still expect some more tirespin and about 114-115mph for a 12.17. Then again, you don't ever follow the norm anyway...

I was running the welds I bought for my srt and never got a chance to run. 15x9 with 24x9.2x15 M@Hs. They were spinning believe it or not all the way through 2nd. His car makes 304whp385wtq to the ground. It pulls very hard in 1st and 2nd. I will have him scan the slip tomorrow.

Great times by a great driver, nothing against the SRT-4, more of a beef with some of the owners. Most owners are probably not so bad, but it's just that it seems that srtforums.com is so out of control that it gives a bad initial impression of the owners. A $22,000 or less vehicle that can run high 13s/low 14s out of the box is pretty respectable in my opinion, but that doesn't make other cars such as the EVO, STi, and 350Z less respectable just because they demand a higher price tag and are worth every penny IMHO. Anyways, very good times and what impresses me the most is your driving, you could probably drive a bolt-on RX-8 into the high 12s, well that's a stretch, but your driving continues to impress me.

try dropping the slick pressure down to 5-7psi and make sure its equal pressure on each side. should take care of the spin.

Thank you very much 3000, I do what I can. Concerning tire pressure I was running 11.5psi but cant go much lower because of tires being to flat, not to mention I would lose even more trap. Oh well Im gonna try and see if 11s are possible next weekend. Hopefully temps are in the lower 70s by then.

I am the owner of the car (posting under Anthonys screen name)
I owned a dsm before the srt and I have to say I am very impressed with this car.. I wish that they would have put a turbo much like an evo 8 16g in the car from the factory.. I have never seen a exaust wheel that is soooo small. time for a 50 trim!!

lower the tire pressure as low as you can go then. yes your mph will drop or stay the same but its all in the first 2 gears hooking that make a difference in ET. I used to run high 9's in my integra racecar with 6 or so psi, then i dropped them down to 4.75psi and went 9.01@160. Tire pressure is everything in a fwd. you can strap the front end down as well to reduce weight transfer. just some ideas for breaking the record! good luck on breaking the record, sounds totally possible.
