Went to the strip last night.

Went to the drag strip last night for the second time. first time i went i was stock and managed to get a 13.448@100.2 with a 1.85 60'.

Since then i added a turboback with test pipe, drop in filter, and works p2 reflash. the best i ran was 13.2@104 with a 1.82 60'. i was really wanting a 12 but it didnt happen. the first time i went i was about 60 degrees out and like 15% humidity, last night it was 78 degrees and 60% humidity.

Should be hitting 12s like mid 12s with that.

So the mods i put on should take almost a full second off of my time? what kind of trap speeds should i see?

Also i think i might have put to much race gas in and ran to rich. i had 5 gal of 110 left over from my STi so i dumped it in with about 3 gals of 91 oct.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Warrtalon has some good pointers for getting the most out of our cars.

I have a similar set up and well I shift slow and smooth, I cant seem to shift fast in the Evo, rather I havent gotten it perfect. But its all in the shifting. Best I did was a 13.01 @ 106 with similar conditions. (I am planning on going out again before the end of the year to get the shifts and point down, I also am installing a shift light to I hit it more exactly. See if that helps me more.)

But back to your question. Shifting - faster the better, and did you have the 5K limiter on? I use it as my stutter box, works quite well for me. I was able to pull off 1.7x launches. But many swear with it off you can get better times. I lean towards that but I fear eatting some expensive parts.

I dont believe adding the race gas effects the richness of your fuel. It does help with knock control. So thats a good thing.

No, he was exaggerating a bit, although you failed to mention the race gas at first. There are a few inconsistencies we have to clear up first. You said you ran 13.44 at only 100mph in stock form on 91oct, right? That's an amazing time for 91oct and only 100mph after a 1.85 60', so that indicates incredible driving skills. YOu then added a p2 flash with TBE and gained 4mph, but only .2s despite a slightly better 60'. Now, you're saying you had a mix of 110/91 on the 13.2 at 104 that included mods, right? That is not at all consistent with your stock times, because the race gas mix should make a large difference, as should the TBE. Now, I don't know what all is included in a P2 flash, so maybe you didn't gain much, because you have no control over your boost nor your tune.

With TBE, tune, and race gas, you certainly are capable of mid 12s and 108-109mph on a good launch in cool weather (<80*). With boost control and the ability to remove fuel, you can run what I'm running (12.1-12.2) with standard 1.7x 60's, and that's in 95-degree weather.

I was kinda stumped as well. the P2 flash is from works tuning and bumps the boost to 21 psi and messes with the timing and fuel. it was not a custom tune just a off the shelf flash. would you reccomend a Hallman boost controller for track use? i am in the process of saving or cam's, valve springs, and retainers right now. what would be a good mixture of gas for me to use 96-98 oct? thanks for the help. Brett
