11.29 @ 126.5 new best

I went to Englishtown tonight for test and tune.

got 5 runs in:
12.69 @ 120.65 1.869 missed 2nd
11.49 @ 123.47 1.711 28psi, ok 60', lifted throtte in first to control tire spin
11.64 @ 124.50 1.818 bogged launch 30psi
13.15 @ 123.05 2.539 no idea WTF happened, crazy bog, then tire spin.
11.29 @ 126.57 1.724 31psi, lifted in first gear to control tire spin again.
kicked out for no rollbar.

Big change was the BR fmic instead of stock fmic. Looks like the FMIC was worth huge power, like 60whp.

The track keeps getting very poor traction once the sun goes down, Im also runnig past 8200rpm in 4th now through the traps. Im still running a stock longblock other than 272 cams, and im getting nervous about the rpm. Im thinking about getting a set of tall drag tires to help with traction and gear ratio.

Next week Im going to a different track with a new turbie housing to test out. If it makes the power it should, I honestly have no idea what to do about the traps. 130mph is going to be almost 8500rpm, IMHO, pressing my luck.

Congrats!!! I saw the new times and figured you picked up from the turbine housing change, even better that it was from the FMIC!

Great job.

yeah, I think I gained more than Al did! Im almost scared to push it with the turbine housing, as I don't think I will be able to resist if it does pick up huge power. How do you feel about running 130+mph on a stock evo8 motor on stock size tires? think it will hold together for 8500rpm+?

Nice times and great trap. You picked up 6mph since the last time you went, very nice indeed. If you can work things out on your launch, your car may hit 10s as is, the new turbine housing should help too. Congrats.

Currently it's a precision GT35R. Im using a precision "DSM bolt on" turbine housing. The same housing that was in the old BR turbokit with internal wastegate. mine is converted to external wastegate though. BR has supplied me with the new turbine housing they use on thier 35R kit, and assures me it's worth big power gains over the precision housing.

you can def. get away with 8500rpms...i run that on my stock motor and head (besides cam and headbolts). I also run this with 28 psi and pump gas with meth injection...can't run the 30 psi like i did on the dyno cause the stock ignition is giving up the ghost. I did however trap 129mph so you should def. be there if our setups are comparable with your extra boost if your ignition isn't stock or you get lucky and the gas. Good luck ...hope your front diff holds up to the abuse if its stock...i had no luck there once i started going into the low 11s over and over and over 126+mph. I can't wait to get back out with this cool air we have been having with my ralliart diff....should be fun. Hope to see you on the other side of 11s and 130mph....hehe

That's the plan. Problem seems to be that on test and tune friday nights, the traction is just so poor from the track temperature and street tire cars tearing up the rubber. By the time I get the tune setup, the traction has gone away. The car could run a 10 as it sits with a 1.5 launch.

I have to get the safety equipment done too, as Im going to run out of tracks to get kicked out of before Im done testing the new parts I bought.

sweet, glad someone is going through the same stuff to compare info with. I will just raise my rev limiter to 8600 then next time I run the car.

I have upgraded the ignition to 1990 dsm parts. no missfires at 31psi with .028 gap.

Im also on the 03 stock diff.

With all the new parts, 10's and 130 should be doable. Good luck in your car for doing the same soon.
