Haven't touch the clutch switch adjustment. The only adjustment I have made is the one that goes directly to the clutch pedal and right now it is completely adjusted to the maximun it can. No threads left on the screw.

Thanks for the ones that are helping. I have ordered all the parts(syncros and gears) from the 2005 and planning to go to Turbo trix for a rebuild.

that's probably your problem then. You have to adjust the switch also by backing it out as well. You will notice the clutch pedal rise even more.

i would start by contacting Matt Gold here for either a heavy duty twin ceramic clutch or ceramic triple like i run then put that in. IF that doens't fix it (which i bet it will if you didn't already mess that tranny up) then worry about a rebuild and i recommend john at www.teamrip.com

The problem is that not many people know how to properly adjust the clutch on the evo. They are quick to blame the tranny for being shot. From personal experience my car was having 2nd gear lock outs and 4th gear grinding until I actually took the time to measure the travel of the clutch fork when the clutch was depressed. I kept adjusting it until I saw an increase in travel. Now I can no lift the 1-2 shift and 3-4 shift without a complaint from the transmission.

The only odd thing that happens is that the pedal throw is very long which I think is needed from the increased clamping force from the upgraded pressure plate to get the disks to properly release without dragging, causing the grinding and lockout.

Fas4dr: what clutch are you using. Sorry for the stupid question, but the clutch switch is the one that the clutch pedal touch when you apply the clutch.

I run the RPS twin carbon. It is the switch that the clutch pedal hits when it's not being pushed on.

Yes, both. I am Spaniard and we speak proper unique and original official castilian.

When I see this type of writting it looks very flashy. Imagine if I am talking English like this:

Thiz morning I got up and took a chower(shower). Then I went to my kar(car) and drobe(drove) away. I stopped nearvy (nearby) a bending (vending) mashine(machine) and I vought (bought) a xoda(soda).

Like I said man, it is just anoying. I can understand the pronounciation issue, it is granted that different spanish speaking countries speak with different accents but typing is a different issue. Typing and pronouncing wrong reveals lack of education.

You will always see me making mistakes in English (it is not my first language).

make sure the clutch is adjusted before you rebuilt the tranny, it sounds like a clutch problem not a tranny issue
