First time @ track!

Went to Import Showdown with the Evo I bought last week. I bought the car on Thursday and dropped it off at TopSpeed on Tuesday to make the Import Showdown this weekend.

My mods:

AEM EMS
Perrin boost controller
Buschur 3in TBE
HKS 280 cams
Buschur upper pipe w/1G bov
Exedy triple disc

I made it to the finals in the AWD class and placed 2nd. I had a blast at this event and couldn't of asked for a better weekend or ending to the event. Well....1st would've been nice but 2nd is not too shabby.

AWD finals

R/T------.381
60'------1.810
330----5.119
1/8-----7.852--90.10mph
1000---10.186
1/4----12.143--117.80mph

My fastest time

R/T------.400
60'------1.829
330----5.083
1/8-----7.786--90.52mph
1000---10.111
1/4----12.069--115.86mph

I made numerous passes in the 12.0-12.2 range and the car was very consistant each time. I did have a few runs with 1.7 60' ft's, but the track just didn't feel the same later in the day. My tires started slipping out of the hole. I am very pleased with the way the car felt.

Awesome stuff. The 117.8mph indicates around 380-390whp. What fuel were you using? I assume you don't have an alky kit, since one is not listed. Did I read it right when you said you bought the car on Thursday 2 weeks ago?

Good job getting out there and rockin' out. 11s are but a good 60' away...

I had the race gas (C16) map loaded. I cut some good 1.7's early, but as the day got older the track was harder to hook.

Yes sir, I bought the car a week and a half ago. You are correct, I am only a low 1.7 away from an 11 sec run. The car felt absolutely amazing. I guess I need to get use to the car a little bit as I have never driven or launched an AWD car before this weekend.

I dynoed at 373whp 385trq(C16) on the TopSpeed Dynojet on Thursday.

Ah, ok, good...C16 is the good stuff. That's great driving for the first time driving/launching/racing an AWD car. I didn't know you didn't have an Evo this whole time...guess I just assumed you had one with mods from earlier confrontations. I know you had a GS-T, but thought you already had an Evo. Anyway, it's good to see that your dyno numbers are very much in line with your mph (and vice versa). No inflated numbers there for sure...

Thank you sir! I have a whole new respect for the times you are running now Warrtalon. It is damn hard to run 11's on such little mods. I tried my best this weekend to do it myself and it just wouldn't happen. My shifting is my strong point, but the launching.... not that great yet. I'm learning though.

I just settled my accident case a few weeks back and finally bought the car a little over a week ago. I asked TopSpeed if we could next day air some parts and have them installed and they pulled a rabbit out of a hat. Big thanks to them for doing that for me on such short notice. They were swamped with Evo's and Suby's all week.

Simply amazing!!! Three weeks ago you had no EVO. Two weeks ago you had a stock EVO. Now you have an EVO that runs low 12s and traps at 115-117mph. Congrats, and I'm glad that everything is working out for you so far with the EVO (knock on wood). It's great to see that your EVO held up very well with all the runs you did. This goes to show that buying a high milage used EVO isn't all that bad. I say that more for myself, because that's exactly what I plan to do in Feb. or Mar. Once again congrats on your progress.

Good stuff man, i was very impressed with how your car ran. That flame thrower 2-step is badass....

Unfortunately, i had to race the sandbagging 2nd gen in the 1st round of the bracket, so i got knocked out by a car running 130mph+ traps too scared to enter a higher class.

My best time of the day was another freaking 12.012@114.5. Best MPH of the day was a whopping 118.50!! But, of course, that was when the track had as much traction as a slip&slide.

I was def getting knock on most runs, and the car was pulling gobs of timing(the 114mph traps). On the clean runs(no knock) was seeing consistant 116-117 traps. But, since im a non-driving SOB and can't figure out how to launch this clutch without blowing the tires off.

Anyway, im going to get back to a PREPPED track with some race gas mixed in to try to combat the knock and get my freaking 11. Im starting to get a little frusterated.

It was good to meet you Jeff. Sorry we didn't get to shoot the **** a little longer. Send me a PM if you plan on going up to Commerce anytime soon. I would love to meet up and see if we can both run 11's. I plan on going in the next couple weeks before all the goodies I ordered show up.

I seen video of your run Jeff and it sucked you got knocked out by them only to have them lose to throttle body issues. They should've been in the showdown class anyways. That 2G Eclipse has the power to run 10's, but for some reason launching, tuning, or issues pop up for them everytime. The Spring showdown will be different though. If they show up and run in the AWD class then I will run in the AWD class too. Hopefully my car will be in the 10's by then and I can give them a good run for their money.

And ill run the showdown class, LOL.

Hell, the AWD class was MUCH more competative than the showdown class. Only fast car in the showdown class broke.

WOW, this without a hotside added? That is amazing. I am wondering if it is really needed on the 03? I plan I using Alky FYI, can these times be duplicated on ALKY?

Just get you 60 foots down and you'll hit 11's.

11's are around the corner with mph. Get that 60' down and hit the shifts fast you will get it. "I droped from 13.2-13.0 to 12.81 just by driving more aggressive"
Good Luck

Stock 03 turbo! I don't see why the same times couldn't be duplicated with alky. I'll let you know about the alky kit as I have one being installed very soon along with the Buschur race fmic. I believe Al(Dynoflash) said he was able to run a little more timing with the alky kits over race gas. We shall see, but the tracks are closed around here. I will have to wait until next year.

I'm trying to get the most out of the stock 03 turbo before I upgrade to the good stuff.
