I roll through the waterbox, then do a quick 4-wheel spin to clean off the tires while heating them up. The ease of the burnout (or lack thereof) lets me know how aggressively I can come off the line. If I spin like nobody's business during the burnout, then I know I can't launch *****-out, but rather need to do more of a feathered slip. If I can't get the tires to fully break loose in the burnout box, then I know I can launch as hard as I want...

For what it's worth, we have had a couple of RWD cars dyno at CFT then come dyno at our Dynojet. The cars were within 1-2% of each other.

This is looking like recipe for destruction . New supper dupper grab all clutch , frist time out AND a 2 step .

Wow 20psi I would start @32 psi and go down from there . I think I had my toyo's proxy4 set at 30-31 psi the last time they are 255's and I got some awesome 60's 1.62 ,1.66 ,1.68 with spinning and some wheel hopping . One more thing to think about the softer the tire the harder it is when cold....

I will have some new motor mounts by the end of the week. Hopefully that will prevent wheel hop. I guess your right about the tire preasure. I have the feeling either way something is going to break this weekend. I got a tow truck driver who owes me a favor so I am not concerned

I don't know if anyone already posted this in here but you shouldn't lower the tire pressure UNLESS you are spinning hard at the launch. Just leave it at 40-42 or whatever it is from the factory.

EDIT: With that clutch and those mods, you will most likely have tire spin problems unless you can really drive. Just remember the lower the tire pressure, the more rolling resistance you have. Essentially you want the highest pressure while maintaining the perfect amount of traction. GL

Tilton offers a flow contol valve that help reduce to the driveline. Contact Tilton and they should be able to provide further information on it. It isn't on their website yet, but they had it at the PRI Show.

Thats how I was launching before on the stock clutch, it worked great for 21k miles. I run a MSD DIS-2 so I will be able to setup launch control. I was thinking about setting it to around 6k rpms and retard the ignition to obtain about 15psi. Would this be enough to get some tire spin so I don't break stuff?

Thats a pretty cool solution. I would really love something like that for daily driving and then swap it out at the track. I will call them tomorrow morning

Good luck Be careful with that launch of the hole with that clutch. You can easily break the front diff if you get enough wheel hop or launch too hard. I would feather the clutch so you can take some stress of the drivetrain. Hope you can hit those 11's!!!

How should I setup the suspension? Soft in the rear and stiffen up the front?

Are you trying to break the AMS record on this run?
